I've certainly had issues here and there with Baba over nearly 8 years buying from them, but they've been very good about handling the issue to my satisfaction one way or another. The issue I have noticed in recent months is that their pricing has skyrocketed, to the point they're much higher than domestic importers who charge shipping and taxes, and that's not even accounting for the fact Baba have had a frustrating practice of upcharging shipping costs significantly after purchase, and not just on pre-orders, but in-stock items as well.

At present, their Ebay scoring is extremely good, with very few negative scores in the last year, and many of them they've directly responded to and explained. It would seem rather unlikely a seller with a 27,000 score on Ebay, and likely several thousand more from their own site would intentionally decide to scam one random buyer with an empty box but still take the time to put their company card inside. If anything, packaging and recorded weight and dimensions of the shipment would be the only argument you'd need to get your money back.

Order arrived okay b4 Christmas although it was on his website instead of ebay shop I used in the past.

Your getting me worried now as I have a big order in route from him as we speak.

The only time.e I did get annoyed with him was I was desperate for an item that said in stock but was not and took him ages to let me know this and refund my money. Long time ago that though so give him another chance

Sounds like nothing is going to be done from baba on the stress marks on xtransbots menasor main body (expected this) that came opened but he did send me a picture of the missing face so appears he was trying to get xtransbots to support the item. Guess I have to make another order to get it though. I see a couple people above stating they got scammed by him though. Any luck with those? Any recent good interactions with him? Just feeling a little Leary now especially due to tigatron just getting a card.

He sold me a defective ( maybe factory reject) KFC blaster a few years ago, but since ive had such good business from him in the past, I just ignored it and kept the figure. I mentioned it to him, but he wasnt jumping to make it right and china is really far for an RMA.

Well, I placed an order on Baba's positive feedback in this very thread.

I ordered an item on October 2nd. After not processing the order for a couple weeks, I messaged to ask if there was an issue. He then disclosed that the item he sold me wasn't in stock, but it would be arriving the following week. That's a red flag, but I'm trying to be patient with delays and these kinds of things after COVID. This actually continued back and forth for the next several weeks saying it will arrive, and then the deadline being missed again, until I said I wanted to cancel my order (there's no way to initiate this on the site, that I can find). His responses became less timely, but they said FOR SURE it would arrive next week this time, and got me to keep the order. They missed this target, but I was kind of like whatever, let it ride at this point. They were very apologetic the next time I messaged, and it finally shipped the next week.

The item shipped on December 10th. Took a long time in transit to leave the country and arrive in the states. This is expected. It cleared customs and arrived at the outbound distribution center ready for USPS pickup on December 28th. It then sat at this step until January 8th, when I finally messaged the seller again about why it's taken over 10 days for the package to get handed off. I got an off hours response within an hour with an apology saying they would reach out to their logistics people, and I got a shipping update from USPS within hours.

Now, I think some of the blame shifts to USPS potentially, but the package has since bounced around in Washington, arrived in my city, departed my city to hang out in SLC (possibly code for indecipherable address) and arrived back in my city as of today. I highly doubt delivery today, but I will update when this saga concludes.

I say all that to say this: I can't claim that I've been scammed yet, but Baba's business practices are, at minimum, a little fucked, and I will never purchase from this seller again. To their credit, they have remained very polite through this whole thing.

I did look back at my ebay history as well, and I did make a purchase with them long before I knew about this thread, and the record shows that I did messaged them, because it took ages for them to ship my item. I regularly do business 6HK666666 and Sweetmall, and I am not in the habit of messaging Chinese sellers for taking too long.

UPDATE: The package did finally arrive today (1/14/22), and everything inside the package looks to be in order.

I ordered from Baba's website that had an awesome holiday sale going on after Christmas. Shipped a week after New Years Day and it was a TON of stuff. I mean Covid 2021/2022 Holidays? Come'on everyone needs to understand there are logistic and holiday delays.

Used to use them on Ebay, but Ebay is ridiculous for fees and taxes now. Back in the good old days before sales tax on ebay, I ordered tons from him. I think I started around 2015. They are an expert at marketing btw. Never had a problem.

Anyway, I've had delays due to stuff out his control (Shipping / Covid etc)...In reality they can't do much about that.

As for stuff not in-stock after paying for it, the only time I've had that happen is with me not reading the listing fully or a mistake in inventory. Most of the less popular items are now 0 - small dollar deposit that he goes and gets on demand. I think they are trying to hold less inventory for stuff they are not sure will be popular etc.

Needless to say, any time I've had trouble with a purchase not coming into stock is met with them ALWAYS asking if I wanted to cancel and refund or wait it out. I did have one time on Ebay where they ran out of stock on a display LED stand and they simply refunded me that before shipping out the rest of the order. They have always come through. Perfect imo.

As far as QC with a product, I simply don't expect much out of overseas vendors for this. That needs to go directory to the manufacturer. I simply understand overseas sellers don't do returns and at the same time I don't expect them to eat it when the manufacturer skips town or is unresponsive... that is simply the name of the game. We are lucky to have these sellers that specialize in selling to our countries.

So if they sent anyone an empty box, that seems a little crazy to me; why risk their good name and a ton of sales over trying to scam someone over a small sale?
Anyway, they are on TFW2005 with adding @ to bababobo00712

While I generally bought from him on eBay with no issues I only have a couple orders through the website. Bummed about stress marks that were already in it but it won’t stop me from buying from him. I do want to know updates on the guy that just got a post card instead of item though. I have to make another order from him to get my missing face for an xtransbots figure. tried to order another fans toys item from him but he was already sold out.

Out of curiosity, what item was it that took so long? If it was a pre-order, then lots of the stores have been getting shipments of toys late. I've had a couple pre-orders that turned to "Incoming" and asked for payment, only for the factory to delay sending stuff out by a few weeks. I can't really fault the store if the factory asks for full payment, the store calls in the PO, and the factory drops the ball.

Now if it was an in-stock item then I'd be annoyed. I've had issues a couple times that baba has shown "5 items remaining" simultaneously with a "sold out". Really annoyed me on one older figure that I was shopping around on and thought I had plenty of time since baba still had 9 in-stock. Next week it was 8 in-stock but sold out.

But baba just shipped my XTB Perceptor earlier this week and canceled my PO for FT Tesla 2.0 the next day. I'm shopping strictly through his own website these days and not on E-bay. No fuss or drama and it all went smooth. Unlike Terry who forgot to include my replacement part with my most recent order (for the 2nd time, grrr).

If you’re on Babas site and it doesn’t list a price it’s in preorder. If it’s a new item and there is a price sometimes he needs a bit more time to get it in. Pro tip.

There might be a few good ones left on eBay but I stopped buying Transformers off of eBay. Too much guessing and hoping a seller hasn’t gone bad and I have been scammed more than a few times. Just not worth it.

We normally don't discuss ShowZ here, but they do have a dedicated thread here: Show.Z Store

The ShowZ staff are on that thread and help answer customer questions (and respond to the complaints when they come up). ShowZ has had a presence on AliExpress and some other platforms, but they're mainly an independent Chinese web-retailer now. With all the "rogue eBay sellers" lots of us have moved away from eBay. Back in 2019 and 2020 I got lots of stuff off eBay, but not so much anymore. There are still some good sellers especially for aftermarket upgrade kits.
