They've got Hot Shot on their team. that's their default mode.

Considering Carlos and Rad I'm surprised more don't.

It's bulky and hinders his articulation and just looks like random bits stapled on. The backpack could be kinda seen as a jetpack, and the right arm chunk has missile launchers... but Megatron can fly already without it, IIRC. And the left arm chunk is just a chunk of Tidal Wave. Optimus' super-modes with his trailer and Jetfire, for all of them being static pants, add height and at least look good!

That's stretching so bad Reed Richards is hurting. It's a standard bad guy thing to say.

Yup. Optimus' super-modes do it so much better. is this why Megatron almost never gets a super mode?

It'd make him more useful than Hot Shot.

Probably the best-looking of the Minicon weapons.

Despite that the Autobots, while being well-meaning about it, are still exploiting the Minicons.

So, I wasn't able to take pics of Tidal Wave in his robot/alt modes. I probably won't be able to do that until Monday. Sorry.  

I'm not gonna take a pic of it because I'd have to transform my Armada Prime again, but comparing him to Optimus Prime from RID 2001... yeah. RID 2001 optimus is better in pretty much every way. Articulation, combined mode, base mode of his trailer... hell, he even looks better IMHO. And RID 2001 Megatron and Armada Megs? Forget it!

I'm surprised there wasn't a Minicon named Cy-Kill, don't tell me there are no motorcycle Minicons!

 

Sideswipe's Minicon, Nightbeat, is a motorcycle. And probably has the name that would've made more sense for Sideswipe himself given that he's a blue car that turns into a partially yellow bot.

Sideswipe was going to be Nightbeat. His name got swapped accidentally with his Minicon during the toy’s production, and never got swapped back.

Maybe the real Leader-1 was the friends we made along the way.

 

Barrel is a boring name. Many of the Japanese minicon names are boring because they're just bland English words that sound interesting to a foreign ear but are just mundane to us.

Barrel, Lift, Dirt, Char, Grid, Search, Cannon, Sonic... These are some of the Japanese Micron names. They're just sorta.... ehhhh.

 

Bland names for bland characters, I don't want Swindle or Sparkplug's names slapped on some glorified Hot Wheels toy.

 

Gonna try and get an episode up tonight.

But before then as I went to the wiki to get some of the stuff I need for the post I found something of moderate importance.
