I love Dr. Wu’s micromasters, but I’m ready to move on from Prime already. Really looking forward for him to release his other Extreme Warfare figures. Also curious to see how he’s going to handle the inevitable Megatron micromaster!

 

Same, although I can't really blame them trying to gather some low-hanging fruit with the various OP redecos... hey, if it helps fund more molds I'm all for it! Here's hoping they go nuts with their Seeker mold too!

 

Dr. Wu got hit with covid last year, and along with other pandemic related issues, a lot of new releases fell behind.

There's now 2 versions of the original OP version, actually: gray pants and white pants.

 

Where is/was the gray pants one available? Does it have any other color differences?

 

Gray pants was original. They started posting new pics of the white pants version. Everything else looks the same.

We only have the NP version.

Yeah, I can live with the repaints (and the inevitable Seeker repaints) if funds more one off molds like Beachcomber and Powerglide.
Hopefully we'll see some of those post CNY

That tiny Ultra Magnus is really charming. I wonder if Dr. Wu would be interested in producing a new trailer/armor set for this figure?

 

He's what said about Ultra Magnus armor on his Weibo page. It was a comment on the White OP pictures.
Assuming "vest" is the same thing as Ultra Magnus armor.
I'm not 100% confident; this is all filtered through Google translate.
I'm not sure about G1 style UM, I'd think it would be easier to do something like IF or MS Ultra Magnus 1.0 at Micromaster scale. Maybe not though

 

MS UM 1.0 is pretty close in alt mode.

 

The gold Optimus looks tempting, but the swirly plastic worries me. I’ve heard that stuff from Dr. Wu tends to be good quality, but I might wait for reviews that talk about the plastic quality before I buy.

 

I believe it's what we would call armor. I've seen it used in reference to other products, and it's always an add-on armor being talked about when vest is thrown around.

Like the Skyfire upgrades to Prime in the Bay movie? Vest.

I know people love their Optimus repaints, but I am kinda of surprised we didn't get a G2 Beachcomber or a lighter purple or more bluish purple Galvatron.

Torn on whether grab white/UM Optimus now or wait to see if there will be a set with UM that includes the white OP.
