The "ground unit" appears to be a fresh take, especially if it stays grey. Screenshot from TakaraTomy video. Are we finally getting a large missile launcher that fits in the Pod Grander? I asked about a missile launcher months ago. They really spent too much time focused on it, if not... Screenshot from TakaraTomy video. But, I still really want more updated vintage sci-fi sets that haven't had their turn... I love that image. Gives off great positive energy vintage vibes. I sat on mine a while, but when I finally opened them, that extra articulation of the newer version really added to my enjoyment. The extra parts have you a lot more build options. And, the larger size made the combined humanoid mode really menacing. Have fun!
No problem, buddy! Congrats dude!!! They are awesome sets and some version of Gigantor is a must have. I prefer the color scheme of the original but the new version is also fantastic and much easier to get for a decent price. Enjoy!!!
A gyro copter upgrade is a great call! Seems pretty likely that could be what they do, though I’m kinda hoping they do some kind of naval mech for the fourth. The more I look at it, the more uncertain I am that it’s actually larger. I think the Gamma in the foreground being hunched over makes the tank one look larger. This image seems to show only those three we know of so far: the two Gammas and the tank. I think when they reveal the fourth they’ll update the main image again.
Random topic jump, but one of the guys here on Twitter blew my mind by pointing out that the original Great Robo Base retailed for ¥6,900. That’s about the cost of a single Tactical Mover suit… different times and different product, but still made me stop and stand still for a bit.
That one isn't too different from the 'standard' x4 combination. I'll have to dig out the insert in the Buffalo box, but it looked different from that.
Good eye, dude! That sure is a Pod Grander and I really hope we do get a missile launcher for it! I don’t think we’ve seen an end to those. The initial promo info for the Tactical Mover line seemed to indicate it would be running alongside a continuing mainline.
So first blush, I think the grey/sand(?) tank VFS frame is probably going to have different legs. I do hope this means we'll get a re-release (camo?) of the Pod Grander... going to be a pain in the privates if it exclusively ships with the SAM missiles though. One thing that makes me sad about those gun barrels on the tanks... I got a feeling they're the same ones on Tri-Dasher/Shadow-Convoy. I believe those were the ones that separate from the 'pistol grips'.
Oh, Amiami has the new Airborne unit listed now too with discount. AmiAmi [Character & Hobby Shop] And, just for those interested, they are going to get me a replacement arm part for my two left forearms problem on my V-Mover Type-4.
That’s great news!! Glad you’ll get that all fixed up! Do you need to send them back the extra left arm or will you get to keep it? Not sure why I’m curious about that, but I am. It’s been a long day.
They didn't mention it. If I get to keep it, I'm sure I'll find a way to use the part in a display or photo.
Oh, I’m sure you will! I love the displays you come up with, especially the ones with the vintage Diaclone alongside the reboot stuff.
Wow, got some real Gun-Tank vibes off those guys. Cannot wait to get them. Payback for the new HMR Dougram and Roundfacer sets packaging homaging the Takara releases?
The unannounced suits in the video look great. I will admit I’m a little worried to lose some of the color of Diaclone. Another series I like, Hexa Gear, started leaning heavy into military colors and I almost totally lost interest due to it.
So much news today! I just took a little time to look at the official page for the Gamma Versaulter Airborne Unit and it says specifically that the color is a dark grey (rather than the stealth black of the Gamma Versaulter). In the initial leaked image it looked black but from these new images the difference is clear.
If it is a one-off though, I don't mind it. It looks to be a shiny gray, so it may complement other sets that have that color in them to work well as support units... Then, it would look better paired with some of the earlier Caliber sets... That could be cool.
if you look at the wing edge, you can really see the contrast. Bummed that it's yet another different shade (to a degree- it makes sense as low-vis for an aerial unit). I think it's different for VERS BP's dark blue too. ガンマヴァーサルター<エアボーンユニット>|プロダクトディティール|タクティカルムーバー|ダイアクロン オフィシャルサイト|タカラトミー --- After looking at these, and watching the video a few more times. Maybe those treads are just cliped onto the (very skinny) calves. I'm not sure where the feet are folded up though. Maybe there's some magic we haven't seen with the design that will become more apparent when we get the first set of VFS frames in May. Since other than a new bullet/raid core (with new head) the overall frame looks the same (which i'd imagine is intentional). I'm going to be a little disappointed if #4 is the Cosmo Marine (though I'm always down for more Marine colors- even if i've decided to not go down that rabbit hole) recolor of #3. ---- Upon further reflection... I'm almost a little sad that #2 isn't a VTOL pack, instead of the Fast (jet) Pack. Though, who knows- we may get all kinds of TTM recolors/kits out of these. ----- Hexa Gear Block Base 06 Slat Plate Model Kit might be a better fit for the 1/60 "does it work" forum... but since there's been a little bit of base chatter here... these grates caught my attention. --- So I think #3 is going to be using the cannons from this. with upgraded treads from.... I was really staring at the video tonight, and it looks like the VFS is effectively sitting down and the knees are inverted like in it's walker mode. It also looked like there might have been locking tabs on the back of the thighs... but take that with a grain of salt. One thing that occurred to me about our Flyer #2, is should in-theory cost more? He comes with everyone #1 has plus the flight kit (technically makes him the better deal over #1 unless you really want the black versus grey- and depending on the additional $$).
That lil tank dude looks like a Tactical Mover with some add-on tank tread parts, and some huge guns! Sweet!
they may not end up being as big as we'd like them to be. They're quite likely the same as Spoiler re-issuing the ones from Battle Buffalo would have been nice Spoiler
I have a set of the 06 and 07 plates sitting in my PoL at BBTS. I'm hoping my DA-80 & DA-81 come in before I have to release them so I can save on shipping. I originally bought them to pair with my Fresh Retro base stuff that is more 1/18th scale but they look generic enough, I'm sure they can go with just about anything.
