The cyberpunk larpers are, I feel confident, a nod to the Mod culture from Britain.

Overall I'm enjoying this show a lot, Morrison and Ming Na Wen have great chemistry as Boba and Fennec, the single location gives most of the action a sense of immediacy in terms of consequences and even the motley crew of street punks and Danny Trejo as the Rancor Whisperer are building into quite the eclectic little criminal family.

um, yeah, didn't really like this one that much.

Absolutely hate the Vespa-speeder gang, and that little chase with the Mayor's Major Domo was lame. Even the fight with Krrsantan was pretty disappointing.

I was wondering if we'd see Danny Trejo at some point, this being a Robert Rodriguez joint and all, so him being the new Rancor Keeper is pretty cool, I guess.

And then the saddest moment was seeing that the Tusken tribe was completely wiped out. I didn't see the female Tusken warrior, so hopefully she's alive, but damn.

Just a whole bunch of let-down in this episode.

But hey, if I can get a "Book of Boba Fett" Swingline Stapler, I'll forgive the rest of it.

Also, Ludwig once again was going off with the score. Good grief, during the flashbacks I was like “okay okay give me a break, you can’t get any more awesome!”

As an extremely casual SW fan, there is virtually nothing about this show I find engaging. The acting seems off, the fight choreography is subpar, and the story is all over the place. I absolutely loved The Mandalorian, but TBOBF has leagues to go before it's anything comparable.

Honestly this is my canon now.

Goes pretty well with how Toro from Mandalorian left the mid-rim to come to Tatooine to seek glory and get his ticket into the bounty hunter's guild by capturing Fennec Shand.

We have the next generation of spacers, smugglers and bounty hunters trying to get their names glorified but being highly unexperienced once compared to the veterans and the outer rim planets themselves.

Close! They are Bosozoku! Which is what happened when mod and biker culture hit Japan's overpaid youth in the 80s. The multicolour chrome, unnecessary mirrors, latent suspicion it's a gang. If you ever wondered why bikes and leather was a huge part of Akira, it's cuz bosozoku were having a craze when old mate wrote it.

The only live-action Star Wars episode I don't particularly care for is The Siege. It wasn't bad, but for some reason it just didn't click with me. I didn't particularly like the team (I find both Cara Dune and the blue fish guy to get annoying in large doses, they're kind of one-note). Although it might grow on me on a rewatch. I don't get the hate for this episode. I wouldn't say it's top-tier Star Wars, but I think it's very good. To me the high points were high enough that I didn't care about the elements that were a bit clunky.

The more I think about the biker gang, the more I appreciate what they were trying to do (at least, I what I think they were trying to do). I mean, if you told me this show would feature Boba Fett confronting a biker gang of teenagers and then recruiting them, I'd probably roll my eyes. I'd probably expect a lot of them mouthing off to Boba and a fight that ends with them winning and joining Boba on their terms or whatever. But this episode skirts around those cliché elements, and just starts with Boba befriending them before the title even comes up. They're not stereotypical Hollywood teenage troublemakers who think they can outdo the adults, they're just kids who need some help, and seem willing to accept it. That's a nice subversion of something that could have been really drawn-out and annoying.

Oof. Chapter 3 was a hard watch. Very "spy kids" and less Star Wars.

That chase through Mos Espa was awful looking. It was like prequel level CGI and the cyborg punk gang was pretty ridiculous, as a whole.

The best part of the episode was probably either the wookie or the rancor and neither got much screen time. It's a shame they're dumping the hutt twins for the mayor and the fish heads.

And I could've probably made some big money placing a bet on whether or not Danny Trejo would eventually make an appearance.

I know some people are saying the bikes don't fit in with Mos Espa. I take the gang as people that puts real pride into their rides. So, they don't let them get run down like the rest of the stuff on Tatooine. They keep up the work and make them flashy. Think some of the cars in the Fast and Furious street racing scenes. You can tell the owners dump most of their $$ into making them into the flashiest things on the road.

Man, that was one slow speeder chase. It reminded me of this:

It’s really hard to tell what this show is trying to be. Is it that classic story of the foreigner who gets saved by a people who take them in, only to save them in return? Is a crime drama? Is he the good guy or the bad guy?

So far, in the crime department we have Boba Fett with no real motivations, and no real presence. When the water trader told him he was a joke, he wasn’t lying. And the writing is honestly cringey at times.

I feel like this is two plots that needed to be seperate seasons. If the first was just him with the Tuskens, and they
died at the end, making him go to war with the Pykes by himself and vowing to protect Mos Espa, it would have made for a much better story, then they could have focused on him becoming Jabba’s successor in a second season.

I want to love this show, but it just leaves me with a lot of questions as to what to what is happening and what character motivations are, and the only thing I have to go by is bad dialogue.

I really don’t understand the writing for this show.

I guess that's why they had to steal water, they dumped all their credits into their ugly bikes.

100% this. The “chase” scene was really bad. Was the budget for that really that low?
