If that Taobao seller had Janssen too, wouldn't he let you swap the deposit?

Good question. That’s certainly another possibility.

I wasn't planning on adding Perceptor to my collection until just a few weeks ago.
And now I'm glad I did. He's just such a recognizable character and I think x-transbots knocked him out of the park.

How tall is Perceptor supposed to be. Maybe I have a distorted sense of scale, but I'm surprised at how small this guy is in pics.

I like the clear chest and paint on the FT one much more and have it preordered, but with this one being so much cheaper and available now - I'm conflicted. If this had a clear chest panel option I would be all over it.

He has a pretty wide stance in my pic. But he's about as tall as Ratchet. Maybe I'll try to do some more pics in a normal stance one of these days.

Yeah that's the only thing I wish they'd have offered as a swappable part. Maybe someone in the community will come up with an option.

Fuck it, I'm switching over. A clear chest panel isn't worth $100+. Feels good to drop an overpriced FT preorder, anyway.

well to be fair, its more like $80 (you can get the ft one for 199.99 at showz and janssen was $119.99 at the same shop for instance). i will miss the clear chest for sure but the FT is still 67% more expensive and lacks the fun accessories this guy has.

My Toydojo order came through and this guy is fantastic! Just be careful when removing the styrofoam insert from the box...most of the accessories are contained outside of the insert in their respective compartments and may fall out on you if not paying attention. The figure itself is great :)  . I don't plan to transform this guy to alt mode anytime soon...I hardly ever transformed my original G1 version when I was a kid (same for soundwave) lol!

I still have the FT version on preorder...but man, tempted to say "one and done" with this guy.

So...curious if there are any reports of breakage on this guy? Asking because a collector friend had this happen during transformation. He says he wasn't applying much pressure at all and that the first arm went fine - As a caveat I can't necessarily say he is the best at being gentle, lol:

I haven't seen any. I can't speak to the condition of the arm as he found it but there is a lock that that I can see engaged that if closed will not allow the arm to open. It has been commented on in videos to be sure it is opened up before trying to pull out the arm.

One other person did report a crack somewhere in the shoulder region.

This guy broke the tab that attaches the calves to the back.

At 5:10 "This plastic feels like shampoo bottle".

Oy. Plastic shampoo bottle isn't a positive comment. That said, I haven't seen any breakage issues prior to my friend's.

So far I’ve heard widespread praise for how well made it is. This is the first damage I’ve heard
Statistically it was always going to happen to be fair

Yeah. That's actually why I asked- I'd only seen positives thus far really.

Dang, that's brutal. @Jefrr posted a photo of that same sort of area with some plastic splitting, presumptively from when the pin was shot.

Might have been the same issue? Or just super rough handling, it looks like the plastic tab also came off with it, I dunno.

Got my Janssen today from TCP. He is beautiful. The micro figures he comes with are just adorable.
