Makes sense, the Prime/Barricade fight was removed from the first film as Bay felt that if you killed every bad guy off them there is no continuity into the sequel, need to have characters you can identify from the original movie

My guess, old props being sent for work, IE camera mounts, checking them over etc

I must say I'd be quite surprised to find that these are being shipped about for shooting - uncovered and easily followed to the location by any nosey parker...

Most film crews try to avoid needless publicity unless they can't avoid it (such as shooting in the middle of downtown L.A.)

 

Well, Don Murphy seems to suggest that the pics aren't recent or indicative of anything judging by his latest post on DM.net, but *shrugs*. Take that as you will.

 

that doesn't seem to stop them from releasing the same damn Spider-Man figure every time a movie comes out.

I'm kind of surprised this didn't occur to more people. Unless it's a double bluff of course.

My guess - the first figure will be rereleased in a slightly altered colour scheme (something like the Premium one, but tweaked) and will have some new accessories.

That's my guessing on all the returning characters who do not get new molds. That may not be a bad thing, since depending on the way the Movie plays out, you might get (for example) Prime with an axe, or with double swords, or something like that, so Hasbro can re-release a first Movie Prime, modified to take the new accessories.

It'll be cool to see Barricade again considering he just disappeared at the end of the first one. Wonder if they'll try to explain that or if he'll just show up. Here's hoping he dukes it out with Prowl.

 

I can only hope Barricade continues his extremely menacing dialog from the first movie:

"Are you *still* EBay user Ladiesman217??"

 

Well, since Frenzy is no longer among us, a solid chest on Barricade will allow them to look into better neck and arm articulation. I just hope they ditch that lame punching gimmick.

 

Its great to see some progress on the movie and to see barricade again is awesome. I'm starting to get anxious to see the movie.

 

Hasbro will likely make new toolings of the returning characters if they can, possibly to incorporate new TF2-specific gimmicks.

As for being the same car, it's a movie. Movie lines can get away with selling very similar products so long as they're of the main characters. I mean, we've had steady Spider-Man movies since 2002 and you still mostly get Spider-Man in his red and blue costume.

Of course, from what we've heard neither he or Tom DeSanto had much to do with the movie anyway, aside from selling it to the studios  

 

I hope that Barricade is in TF 2 but of course new Transformers might take away from his screen time?? Come on 7/26/09 and get here already!!! 

 

Yeah, but the writers have said different, dismissing Bay's attempts to whitewash their involvement. Even Bay stated that Don submitted a load of notes on the script that was taken into account and that's not gonna change this time around. (Michael stated that he and Tom didn't see eye to eye, but you're incorrect in stating that he said Don didn't have anything to do with the movie beside selling it to the studio. Don's involvement's one thing he hasn't denied.)

But there's little reason to disbelieve him if he states that certain info is false - unlike Bay he's not claimed to release misleading information. And he's still aware of the day to day production and involved creatively.

Regardless, I don't personally believe that these pics mean what many seem to think they mean - Roberto Orci's last updates indicated that the script was not yet complete and I'm pretty sure shooting wouldn't start without a script. There's no proof that these pics are new. Bay's stated false info will be leaked. Even if the pics are new, there could be any number of reasons for the vehicles being transported - perhaps they are being returned to GM after being used for promotional purposes. While I'd love to believe that they prove that Barricade is returning and photography has begun, there's very very little to back that up.

Does this mean they'reclose to filming already, or is it just more likely they're transporting vehicles about right now?

 

As for people saying any returning TFs in TF2 will have different alternate modes... I don't think that's realistic. Remember, the movie has story first, toys second, unlike most TF universes. Hence why we saw characters like Frenzy and Scorponok in the first movie that weren't easy to translate into conventional toy form. Changing everyone's alternate modes every movie would get VERY confusing to audiences very quickly. We might see one or two characters change alt modes during the course of the next movie, but I'd be very surprised to see more changes than that among recurring characters.

And hopefully this means we'll get a VOYAGER BARRICADE toy next movie! Eeee!
