The stock horns have "waffling" (holes) whereas the Nonnef horns do not. They're also not quite the same color

 

Not the same color. More dark grey, vs the pearlescent yellow grey he has.

 

How are the new peg sets by the way? They have a lot of stuff going on but I don't know how useful they actually are.

 

Unfortunately, these didn't work out. For clarity, the adapters are great and they all work how exactly how they should. I just wasn't able to use them in the scenario that I hoped I could. These will be great for other projects though (and possibly other uses on the intended one).

 

I got my Slag upgrade kit yesterday. Overall, I'm pretty pleased with it. I definitely like the toy accurate look with the black head and red horns. I had to glue the horns so the tips would stay together. Still, I would recommend it. Even though I was going for the toy look, I ended up choosing the orange/black sword option. Just looks nicer to me overall.

I had a heck of a time getting the head pressed together. I felt I had to press the head together while the red core of the head was popped on the neck ball joint. Based on how it was designed I wasn't sure if I could pop the head on after the head parts were assembled. It was a very tight squeeze pressing the front and back half of the head together with my fingers, but I managed. It is tricky as there's not much room to get my fingers in there and get some good leverage. There is still a small gap, and I need to squeeze more, but I need to figure out a way to pad the parts so I can use pliers so they won't dig into the plastic.

 

I just saw Nonnef's Twitter...what does he have planned for Zartan?

 

I know there was a great disappointment that the skull mask that came with the pulsecon figure didn't fit with his hood on. Maybe he resculpted one?

 

Only thing worth doing would be a chameleon swamp skier. It better be that.

 

Man I’d love to get my hands on some old nonnef kits. Insecticon weapons punch weapons omega unpremeditated trAcks …. is there a place to pick them up cheap? Would nonnef ever sell stl files so a person could print them? I’m talking some of the older stuff that he probably won’t re release again.

 

I don't want to speak for him, but I've found the best bet to getting older stuff is to follow this thread with email updates, and to follow nonnef on social media.

 

He does occasional “warehouse finds” and clears out stock that was laying around, or has imperfections or minor issues. But from what I’ve got from those sales, they’re still solid.
But his stuff isn’t 3D printed, it’s manufactured using molds, so there are no files to release.

 

Yeah I could see from a broadside axe post on Twitter he was at one time making clay models then a 3D print then the final step of creating a mold… so I was hoping…

Last update mentioning Zartan was a month ago, said it was delayed into the New Year, and that the Kingdom Mirage set would come first.

His last update, from yesterday, doesn't mention Zartan, but that the Mirage kit should be ready within a week.

 

Bought spoilers for Deep Cover, Cordon, and Spin-Out last night at about 11:30pm. They shipped them out this morning. Very impressed with their turnaround.

I already know I like their Sunstreaker spoiler so I'm looking forward to getting my first Siege spoiler.

 

Does anyone know the best way to contact nonnef? I have an order that was lost in the mail. I don't have social media nor do I want to start to contact him. Does he have an email? Don't see one on his site.
