One shall stand, one shall fall.


Optimus just arrived. Now that he's here I can make a couple of informed comments.

Galvatron is the odd man out. I'm now convinced he must have been intended for another line, considering his height and weight. Megatron scales well with Prime, as does Cyclonus and Scourge, and even Magnus. Galvatron is the one that stands out as being the wrong size. Still a nicely detailed model, just wish he Didn't tower over Prime and his former self.

Megatron appears to have been screwed over on articulation; I already believed that, but now having Optimus, it's clear Megs got the short end of the stick. Not counting the common QC issue with his ankle, his arm movement is severely limited. Not a big issue, but still. What I do hold against them is the chicken legs they gave him and the severe limits to the range of motion of his legs. He really could benefit from Ball joints at the hips. And I understand that this is based off the Netflix show, but he could use the black panels on the sides of his legs.


Anyway, I'm glad Optimus and Megatron scale so well to each other.

 

Went out to look for Blaster and/or Slammer, but came up empty handed. Really slim pickings out there at the moment. Kinda of bummed about it. This was waiting for me when I got back.  


Really enjoy the Diaclone homage box art on these Newage releases. So, awesome!

 

Walmart trip made worthwhile:

 

Caved and bought kingdom shadow panther. My ankles are looser than i would like and that robot head still sucks ass but otherwise the colors are dynamic enough

I like this so much better than the standard white deco. A little silver paint accent here and there would really make this thing pop.

 

Yeah, I picked up both. Actually, something that really surprised me when I got him home was how similar his colors are to Optimal Optimus’. And considering I was planning on using him as a good aligned Megatron opposite the Worlds Collide Nemesis Primal, it makes a for a great piece.

I'm escorting my mother to her Doctors appointment, and Amazon has delivered my Kingdom Rodimus a day early. Left him outside my door.

I live in new York City. Public housing. No security. They keep doing this in spite of me leaving a note on the door for delivery people not to leave packages...

I've been fortunate the last few times. But I've had packages stolen from me before. He better be sitting there when I get home.

 

That looks nice— who makes it? I recall Maketoys made one but I assume this is newer. Any pics of the alt mode?

Will say I am disappointed in how cheap Optimus' trailer is compared to Rodimus'! Such flimsy plastic, and they didn't even include Roller. (Which I knew in advance about Roller), but did not expect the trailer to be so ...malleable in comparison.

So does this figure come with the visor/mouth-plate head and chest plate that I keep seeing in images, or are those aftermarket add-ons? Because they just crush it with this darker deco.
