Got mine in in today from TCP, and I'll echo what everyone else said. Beautiful figure, the paint is so well done. I was never hard up on the lilac anyway, but I think what they chose works so well. QC-wise he's a dream, and I wish SS and TC were done just as well.
Testing out the flight stand, the joint that attaches the clear piece is stronger front-back and side-side than my other two stands. It still can't hold all possible positions of the figure but it is better. For those interested in the blast effect colours between the three, here's a daylight picture taken with an iPad.
Meh. Takara have also said that: - Rumble is red and Frenzy is blue (G1 cartoon and MP) - Season 3 takes place in 2010 - Car Robots takes place during G1, and CR Brave Maximus is the foundation of Autobot City - Kiss Players is part of G1, as is Binaltech and many other lines etc...etc... I'm pretty sure you and most others do not consider those TT statements to be canon, despite TT saying so.
I'd take an official bio over a cartoon notorious for animation errors (as much as I love the aesthetic). Helps Skywarp was always Cyclonus to me anyway so I get the frustration for the other side. I'd refuse to listen if it went against my head canon too. Edit - I'll discuss FRumble once we see Soundwave v2. I think there might be some surprises there. That said I don't care about anything outside of Sunbow s1/2 and Movie so most of what you said is 'meh'. At the end of the day Cyclonus is Skywarp on my shelf and that's my pic. You'll just have to deal with it!
Just as long as you admit to being biased and only accepting TT's canon when it suits you, while ignoring it when it does not I was just pointing out that TT have said a lot of things, made a lot of things "canon" that go straight against what was already established, or simply don't work. I myself do not consider Car Robots taking place during G1 nor do I think G1 Autobot City was built using Brave Maximus from Car Robots. Despite TT saying so. I likewise do not consider TT stating Skywarp became Cyclonus canon when it does not fit with what the movie shows. (And yes, I also prefer Skywarp as Cyclonus.) I expect TT to either stick with their cartoon continuity since MP is meant for the Japanese market, or put the two together in the box without indicating which is which.
Did you even read my first paragraph? I get you're butt hurt. I'd be perturbed if the beliefs of one of the main characters I held for all these years was 'wrong' according to the IP holders. At the end of the day everyone is picking and choosing what they think is right. Just happens that Takara also believe Skywarp became Cyclonus. No biggie. Life goes on.

See this is why we should listen to the official bios. The movie says "Cyclonus, and his Armada" only for them to disappear for the rest of forever cause it was a dropped, only for their creation to still remain in the final film.
You're very clearly stating that in your head Skywarp was Cyclonus and you're accepting TT's statement because it fits your headcanon and if TT had said otherwise you've ignored it because you would refuse to listen if it went against your head canon. Exactly, you're choosing to accept certain things and ignore others as long as it fits your head canon, I do the same, and so does everybody really. As I said, I prefer Skywarp from Cyclonus as well. I just pointed out that TT's track record for "canon" includes many things we all ignore. Sticking with this, I ignore this as well and stick to what the movie shows us: Thundercracker is in the front and thus he is Scourge, Bombshell is in the front thus he is Cyclonus. I don't like it, I wish it was different, but that is what the movie showed. Will you also accept TT's bio if they release an MP Insecticon and state it became Scourge? Anyway, I wasn't interested in this discussion, but you posted that pic challenging anyone to disagree. I just replied that it was a cool picture of Skywarp and the one-man Armada.
This I know, but fans stick to this claim of Armada being his name when it was just a typical Toei animation mess up.
