It is $20 more, it’s just only $5 more in Japan specifically where they make people pay insane prices for mainline figures.

 

You’ve got that backwards. You guys in the States are so lucky with Hasbro offering their figures so insanely cheap  

But anyway, the Premium Finish line are Japanese releases, so it doesn’t make sense to compare them to retail prices outside of Japan. It peeves me when people claim TT is charging an extra $20, when that is simply not the case. They charge an extra $5 over their regular retail price. Whatever Hasbro does on the other side of the world has zero bearing as it is a completely different market.

Posted these earlier in the review thread. He's not "bright". He's basically the next vibrant shade over for red and blue. The tabs overall work better too. Left is PF version.

They haven't even revealed Wheeljack and the other one yet. They seriously need to start showing more stuff.

 

Same. I kind of like the brightness of the Premium Finish, but the overall look of the regular is the better of the two in my book.
I do like hearing there's better tabbing on the PF one, though. That's a pretty good sales pitch, honestly.

Premium Finish my ass, what is that supposed to be, a battle damage sweatband?

I was excited to own this mold again, but this line is utterly disappointing. You can't make a product line for better, accurate paintjobs and immediately skimp out on paint AND make the battle damage worse than in promo pics.

They didn't even fix the head joint, which was why my original copy broke.

At least the legs hold together a little bit better. Would have been nice if they completely fixed the mold so it doesn't automatically untab the lower legs if you straighten out the feet.

What a waste of potential.

 

I'm sorry it didn't pan out as you had hoped. This line shouldn't exist. The only reason it does is that it makes HTF figures such as SS-38 Optimus more accessible after they stopped producing the original runs. And they know it. It's nothing more than a phoned-in cash grab. It's offensive to those who want a premium take on these figures/designs/decos.

 

I'm still gonna get it since I sold off my original a bit ago and I need a BBM Prime again and I don't really want to wait for a ROTB version. I might try to see if I can wash it off with rubbing alcohol or something cause that's the only thing I had about this.

 

What was wrong with the head joint?

 

I’d very much wish they’d start doing previously exclusive figs that now have extremely bloated after market prices; like Netflix Earthrise Soundwave or VW Earthrise Bumblebee. But if we’re gonna be getting crappy cheap newspaper comic strip paint jobs, I’ll just pay the aftermarket price.

 

It was hella tight. This one's fine now after some shock oil, but on my original copy the head just twosted off after a few days.

 

VW Bee might be a licensing thing and for ER Soundwave we MIGHT get him in Legacy.

I don't turn the head on my original ssbm Optimus  not gonna risk it. I hope the new one it better.

As for the bandana I'm going to fade it with 90proof it's gonna look good.

 

Never had head turning issues on either BB OP figure. Didn't even hear of it on the original figure from before either.
