It's really hard passing on a FT when I see it available. But I just can't spend $200 on effing Hoist.

You're absolutely right, it plugged into the back of his head.

I know this is a little of topic but I tried canceling my fanstoys hoist preorder at Tfs express and when I did, they gave me store credit instead of my actual money. When I asked for my money, they told me about some 180 day policy for preorders that will be turned into store credit when canceled. Did anyone have to deal with this?

That's fairly common at a lot of retailers. TCP has a similar policy.

Damn BBTS sells out fast. Fortunately, looks like many people cancel when these things come in stock, so I'm not too worried about it.

Is that so? Well I think they should give you an option unless that figure is like very close to releasing imo

With this figure it doesn't even connect to the back of his head, though. It connects to the top of his head, like some kind of gun hat.

It should probably be more like a dark charcoal grey. Still for this to supposedly be toon accurste its just not Hoist proportion wise, its like hes had his stomache stapled and these are his after picures.

Well, that's considerably more streamlined than attaching to the back of the head and periscoping up. Looks removable at any rate.

Everyone keeps taking the caveman perspective and calling it a gun. Not everything that you point fires projectiles or lasers. If I recall correctly, that was a scanner Hoist used to determine material properties. I think Trailbreaker's was a force-field generator or something.

It's still connected to the back of his head, just higher up. I'm not saying it couldn't have been done better, but it's not like it's completely inaccurate to the toy, or as we've seen from some shots, even the cartoon.

Aside from the legs (which for me aren't that big of a deal), I don't have any issues with the Bad Cube Hoist I have, and no where near enough issues to plunk down $190 for this and then go through the hassle of unloading my BadCube Hoist.

Yeah FT makes some great products, but for me they're just too late to the game and they're charging way too much. And not just for Hoist, but Mirage and Jazz as well. I don't need to drop $150 for each one when I have two perfectly good MP scaled version in MT Downbeat and MMC Sphinx, both of which I got for under $100.

This selling out (even though people will cancel in masses later) tells FT that people do not give a shit about their design decisions and that they'll take whatever they release, no questions asked.

Which, may not be cool for those of us that wanted a Hoist that looks good with our existing, somewhat cartoon-accurate collection (it is the trend, like it or not).

Good for FT though. They have achieved a brand following most companies could only wish they have. For that, I truly respect them as a company. They simply do not give a fuck anymore (and they make decent figures).

I fully expect Hitch will be one of the most readily available FT figures for a while (after release). Will probably be even included in some sales. The combination of price, execution and character selection I think are going to make him sit more than someone like Outrider, who has the price problem, but is a more popular character and a better execution.

Yeah, this is just classic FT pre-order fomo. Jazz may actually be harder to get but this guy'll be getting given away with every purchase of Seaspray next year

Yeah I don’t particularly care about TCP selling out quickly of this pre-order. We don’t know how many they were rationed. It could be a relatively small number. I get he’s bigger, but IMO it’s a mistake to charge $30 more for this guy than Jazz and Mirage for a character that’s far less essential.

I think as we get closer to release (hey now!) people will come to their senses and realize their Paean was good enough or perhaps even superior. Unless FT tweaks and cleans up a few things in this design it will be in Spindrift-ville.

We don't have official prices for Jazz and Mirage yet, right? Would a $200 price point for both/either really be that surprising?

$160 each for Jazz and Mirage at US retailers; $190 for Hoist and Trailbreaker.
