you mentioned following this designer, who had the history with FP and MT. What else have they done? Are they Involved with some of the Action Toys Machine Robo interpretations? Have they done anything out of the transformers-type scene, any non-transforming robots? Do they have any social media for their work? I’m with you. The FP/MT aesthetic is probably my favorite in this hobby.

That last pic is making me regret not picking up KFC Twincast a bit. I was so sure that Takara had a Blaster mold right around the corner…. five years ago.

 

I could have got one around $40 but I stupidly forgot on the last day a couple of years ago. I already have the metallic version. Waiting on the FT Sonic Wave and maybe they put out a Soundblaster and Twincast. I might use that one for Twincast to have a different mold.

So after many back and forth transformations I’ve made some observations.
The plate that sits inside of the neck, it pops out every now and again. I’ve had to find it launched across the room.

the neck overall is kinda annoying. Such is the headmaster crux I guess. They either rock or roll(and not in a good way). I wish it was closer to the MT necks, tight without needing a spring. Able to look up and down.

oh and he is pretty awesome. I’m gonna keep using the grey HM from god bomber. Looks better to me.

Wasn't on my radar since I've not really felt any of Fanshobby releases for many reasons, but given that this guy is solid and has some of that FP/MT dynamism, Kap might be my first pick up. I've gone from writing off FH to very close to the fence. I still think his Jr mates look like pants but I can definitely see him hanging out with the MT Protectobots.

 

Did you preorder him alone or with other items. Haven't heard anything on mine, but my order was with a few other items. I figure they may have switched to waiting for them all to be in stock before shipping.

I want this deco and preferably with the helmet with the black guns on the sides of it, that rifle, and the black wheels, all of which are points of nostalgia from the G1 figure in the US market.

 

I hold G1 toys to a different standard than modern ones.

But Kap not having the "not even trying to hide" legs panels is a definite plus.

As for a toy/NA version, hard to say if it's worth the additional cost, it's just not as drastic a difference as even the alternate version of Siren/Goshooter.

 

I don't mind if they improve it. It's mostly a color swap of white to grey and the wheels from silver to black, plus the missing helmet with attachable guns, which might mean a bit of a remold on the headmaster to remove its horns. That's about it. Pretty minor changes which might mean it's feasible to do without significant cost. Doing something like moving the wheels to the sides of the torso is probably much more complicated.
I'm grabbing a Kap in the meantime but it definitely is missing the nostalgia for me in its current deco. =)
