Well, the cat's already out of the bag in terms of Legacy's Titan offering and I'm pretty nonplussed about it.

My big figures this year will be Black Zarak and Victory Saber - and I'm fine on that.

 

This--^ We Plebeians never get to see the product in person anyway, and with leak culture so prevalent we see things months ahead of time, so there's really no need to risk human lives on in person product displays.

 

Not that I think they need to be at NYTF, but the 2 events serve totally different purposes.

TF is a media and industry show, while they officially reveal stuff, it's not a fan-focused event. We just see fan-focused coverage because that's what our particular media sources focus on. The main purpose of the show is to rub elbows with other industry people.

Pulsecon is entirely a fan-focused event.

 

I used to absolutely love the NYTF every year.

It's dead to me now without hasbro.

 

I’m wondering if delaying rotb has something to do with this decision as well. It can’t just be covid.

 

Or it could considering cases are back on the rise

 

I don’t doubt it has to do with omnicron. I’m just wondering if other factors were also considered.

 

Probably not. It's not like Rise of the Beasts would have been the only thing for them to show off. They usually show off at least 2 waves of whatever the mainline at the time is in addition to Studio Series and occasionally stuff from the kids media line.

 

It would be nice to see what the next TF cartoon is like. Maybe whenever the next fan first Friday arrives.

Well, honestly does Hasbro need to be there?
In the age of the Internet and Hasbro pulse they can easily put out the information that they want to when they want to, without having to work around other timetables.

 

Nytf is for retailers. It's for Jim from Hasbro to talk to John from Walmart, to line up a game of golf or a free meal and then slap each other on the back and agree to do money things. It is not for Hasbro to appease middle aged neckbeards. In addition, TF is not the only property that Hasbro makes and would be trying to exhibit and sell at a trade show.

 

I’m sure we’ll get a Virtual event instead. I think that’s the better route to take.

 

We got Fan Fest last year so they're likely to do that again, hopefully not as late this time though.

 

I think they’re better coordinated with events this time. But we’ll see I guess.
