If anyone is in Japan and can get the coronation set, just letting you know you’d have a buyer right here:confused2

I contacted Hasbro Pulse about this last year and never got a response as I was curious if they would offer this the U.S. based customers. Guess not, I will just print and paint my own, the crown might take some time but I'm betting it will save me money in the long run.

Sorry to bump a stale thread, but I finally got my MP-52. He's a big improvement over MP-11 and I'm happy to have him. However if I would've paid $230+ for him (I got him for $160) I'd be disappointed. The quality isn't up to par for the price. Loose ankles (that honestly should've been ratcheted) and panels that don't close completely.

All that being said, he's beautiful and photographs well...

If I would have got him for 230+ USD I would be disappointed too... in myself that is, as his actual price was 170 USD (excluding shipping). It's beyond me why people choose to pay more than that by selecting expensive shops.

Those late to the party don't have a choice. Try ordering him now. He's a lot more than $230USD.

Good point there. Another good reason to always pre-order, so that you're not late to the party.

    Yeah, I’m sure they won’t re-release Starscream. :p

I don't know if pre-ordering is a good idea anymore given how poor Takata's QC seems to be these days.

If QC is bad then you can simply exchange or cancel the item at Amazon Japan.

As for "these days", my Starscream, Thundercracker, Skids, and Arcee are all fine. I've had just as much issues or more with older releases than I have with new releases.

Yes but as I've told you before Amazon Japan isn't available to every country.
Glad you got a good SS and TC. Many didn't.

No, those weren't indeed as they're exclusives. All normal releases are though.

What is many? No one knows and the buyers with issues are normally more verbal too. ;)

There are more cheap shops than Amazon Japan, but exchanging with those is harder in almost all cases unfortunately. But many people can order from Amazon Japan, it's only a selection that can't.

For MP-52 if you didn’t preorder from a Japanese e-tailer you likely missed out on some savings. There doesn’t need to be an argument about order/retailer preferences. Since 2018 you can’t really count on MPs to be rereleased soon after their initial release(the expectation is that they will be eventually but that seems to be taking longer than before). Who knows when MP-52 Starscream will be rereleased. I’ve seen some on the secondary market for close to or about MSRP.

If it ever comes up for rerelease again, best to lock in preorder at a Japanese etailer before the preorders sell out. Qc can be a gamble but given that the mold has been used for at least 3 releases(Starscream, Thundercracker then Skywarp) at this point(with less reported issues per subsequent release), if and when Starscream is ever rereleased, qc ought to be good and I think it will be.
