I’m looking forward to this. I wonder if Hoist will follow?

 

Needs some red and yellow striping.

 

I'm curious if this will be an original design or if it will be an update to MST's. I think that will probably inform what they do with Hoist, of they decide to tackle him too.

 

I recall reading in the 3rd party legends thread when they first showed it, that someone confirmed it was off the MS version.

 

A little nervous about size. Will he still scale with MS Optimus? That’s my question.

This looks pretty great and I dig the blueish colour.
I may pick this one up - along with Hoist, maybe - to have some properly scaled folks to display with Mechanic Studio Tracks (assuming both MFT Trailbreaker and Hoist will be oversized).

So showZ lists this as 12cm. Wonder if that's accurate. MS's version is 11cm. Those are bot mode measurements. Wonder what the alt mode will measure.

 

i was eyeing both TB and Hoist, but i haven't seen any reviews or comparison photos for either yet to see how much bigger MFT OS is. for MFT perceptor it was marginal at best, and ended up basically nothing worth mentioning.  

but MS re-issued TB recently so i jumped on that and snapped up both it and Hoist which was still available, as i think they scale better with my NA bots for me.

 

Yeah, having just got MS TB myself, getting this if the alt is only an ⅛" larger isn't worth the money. A ½" however... That would look much better scale wise.

It is another character that big pocket players have been waiting for for a long time. Although the design is from a few years ago, the overall shape is still very good. In the words of Brother Lu: Transformers today are much more sophisticated than those we were when we were young. So the old players are still very content.
The measured height of the open road this time is about 10.8 to 10.9 cm, which is slightly lower than MFT's own crane by 11.1 cm and higher than the pulley by 10.4 cm.
A brother mentioned the color matching problem, saying that it is a little blue, but I can accept it personally. The only thing that feels relatively cheap is the usual plastic feel of the MFT home. Fortunately, I recently bought a can of matte paint, and when I got home, I stopped spraying it. As soon as the matte effect came out, I felt different immediately, even a bit of the matte texture of nylon recently, and the degree of love has been greatly improved.
PS intends to select some of the characters that I started before and spray it...

 

So he's 11cm basically. MS's is 10cm. Wonder what that 1cm difference translates to in alt mode.

I love that they used the MS hands instead of the typical MFT hands. Also dig their new wheel design and that they're silver.

 

My first thought when I opened him up was, did I order the (dark) blue version by mistake?

He is very visibly bluish black. Isn't Trailbreaker supposed to be black? Like black black?

Thanks to DS-02, I now know there are many shades of black.

 

I posted this in the MFT upcoming toys thread when they first showed the product shots,, but most of the time in the cartoon they use middle/dark grey's to convey the feel of black on Trailbreaker, but there was a couple episodes he looked a greyish midnight blue. So I'm pretty sure this is that cartoon colorway.

 

I don't mind him not being totally black, but Pioneer is really too blue. His promo pics are blackish.

So are the pics posted here pretty good representations of his color? Because to me they actually appear blue'ish when the light is hitting him.

 

I just looked at post #8 on my notebook and external monitor, as opposed to my phone, and the images are showing blue-ish correctly. (It looked more black on my phone.)

This is a little lighter than in real life, but you can see the difference between it and the black packaging.
