OK, watched the first ep last night. I really like it. No epic reveal like the end of Mando ep 1, but the introduction of Baby Yoda is hard to top, plus it makes sense to focus on how he escapes the Sarlacc.

I personally love seeing that a certain blue Ortolan pianist survived, along with 8D8. I just want to see EV-9D9 again, she (yes, EV-9D9 is considered a female droid) is one of my favorite robots in SW, along with maybe my favorite original Kenner toy with the articulated mouth.

EV-9D9 did appear in the Mando episode where Fennec Shand first appeared (voiced by Mark Hamill no less), so its possible she could appear again.

Guess Boba Fett also did not have enough HasLab supporters to be able to have a Rancor :lol  :confused2

Great episode. Don't care what anyone says. All the flashbacks are making Boba more of a character than he ever was in the OT.

Also spotted some nice cameos. In a couple of places.

Agreed, we never really got a good idea of Boba's character during the Imperial era, least not in anything outside of comics and books that aren't canon anymore. I really like the direction they've taken with the character.

I admit, while I wanted to know more about how Crime Lord Boba's story progressed, I got really caught up with the whole other world aspect of flashback Boba and the Tuskens. Just felt like good ol'Sci-Fi. Still, I wouldn't want to spend the entire season on this, but I'm beginning to dig why Favreau wrote it that way.

Despite being announced ahead of time as "The Twins" I expected one of the two Hutts to be Rotta with the explanation that Disney-Canon Hutts grew up quickly. I could see The Twins having custody of still infant Rotta to legitimize their claim to Jabba's holding.

Loved this episode and everything it brought to the table.

Though one thing kind of sucked and that it looks like practically, Star Wars cannot do live action Pykes to save their spice. Makes sense since Pykes really are quite unique in physiology. Small face, really large extruding head, thin limbs.

This Episode was much better than the first one.

Was totally hoping to see a Rancor, but oh well.

I gotta say, this makes the Tython Boba Fett a much more desirable toy. I was on the fence but now it's like, I gotta have it. Also all the YouTube fanboys who were like, "Why's Boba Fett weak, not my boba fett wah wah" can eat it. This series just makes Fett better and better.

Okay, that was great! A lot better than the first episode.

The Rancor fake-out was humorous, and it worked, the Night Creeper ninja spilled the beans... or did he? I am a bit disappointed that looked to be a regular earth rat in the pit. They could have gone with a womprat, cuz ya know, Star Wars.

We get more of the annoying Twi'lek Major Domo to the Mayor, but it's short. The Mayor being an Ithorian is very cool -- always happy to see more aliens.

Flashdance (Garza) is back, which means more Max Rebo (the real star if the show).

The Hutt Twins looked pretty great. Maybe not as great as ROTJ Jabba, but certainly better than Special Ed. Jabba and TPM Jabba.

I guess the biggest surprise was seeing Black Krrsantan (the Wookiee). He did look great in live-action, but didn't actually do anything yet. Looking forward to seeing more of him.

And of course we get more of the Tusken dream flashback, and it's all really good stuff. The sand train was cool -- definitely fits with the space-western roots of Star Wars, imo. The fact that it was the Pikes on board just made it better. I'm not certain, but this might be the first time we see any of them without their helmets on.

Now, for my one complaint -- the "bikers' that Boba beats up and takes the speeder bikes from... the fact that they are actually wearing leather cuts (vests), as if they are earth bikers, just goes one step beyond my personal threshold for what is acceptable in Star Wars. Doesn't say "a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away" to me. But hey, I'll glad Boba beat the shit outta them.

Boba brings back all of the speeders and then teaches the Tuskens to ride so that they can take on the sand train. Good stuff.

They take down the train. Tell the Pikes that they will have to pay the Tuskens to pass through the desert from now on. The Tusken Chieftain is proud of Boba. So proud that he gives him the Geico Gecko... that jumps up his nose and starts him on his vision quest. I thought the next few scenes were all in his head, but apparently Boba then set out into the desert, found the tree in the dune "sea", while other memories filled his head (we get another great shot of Kamino and young Boba, watching Slave I fly away). Boba breaks off a branch and brings it back to the tribe, which is used to make his Gaffi stick. And Boba is now officially part of the tribe -- they give him black wrapping and a black robe, to go with his Gaffi stick. He's not basically the Boba we saw at the end of the Mandalorian episode. Awesome.

Also, I knew that the gaffi-stick-smith area looked familiar:
    tusken1.jpg

Just about everything in this episode was just better. The way it looked (was shot). The action scenes. All of it. And overall, I really love this ongoing re-interpretation of the Tuskens.

Since we've got Hutts and Pikes, it makes me wonder what other criminal syndicates will be showing up later.

And I still think that one female Tusken is Fennec. I noticed one of the rifles taken from the Pike train looks to be the same one that she uses.

Yeah the Earth rat took me out of it too for a couple seconds. Would have been a good opportunity to canonize the Womprat design from the 16 bit era "Super Star Wars" game.

The female Tusken could be Fennec, but she's an established bounty hunter at that point in the story, she was already hunting during the early days of the Empire as shown in Bad Batch. It'd stretch credibility a bit if 2 renowned bounty hunters both happened to end up being accepted into the same tribe of Tuskens.

As for other syndicates? It'd be cool if Crimson Dawn showed up
