unfortunately I watched both Windcharger and Emgo's videos and it's there on both, including the IDW heads. the head is pinned onto the neck not a ball peg so no head tilts either.

The neck thing is definitely a thing to save money (lower price so makes sense). Weird they didn’t flip it tho.

Hole in the neck issue was explained just a few posts up
The other side is literally where the mushroom peg goes.

Couldn't you just rotate the neck?

Got charged a few hours ago for this guy at TCP. As soon as Jannsen, MP Skywarp & MS Dark Knight hit my stash, I'm hitting ship.

After we talked about this, using certain methods to cover it, @Thalyn also posted that rotating the neck would actually expose the bigger hole on the other side that you push the mushroom peg in through so it would actually look worse. Filling the hole we've been discussing is the way to go if sealing the neck is something you want.

If enough of us make a big fuss with the neck hole, I'm sure XTB will give an updated neck and head with future releases or the retailers can send one out by itself.

I'm more than happy to measure it up when he arrives (should hopefully be shipping out shortly, hopefully arrive before the 20th) if someone wants to cut or print something. I'll even verify the dimensions fit rather than being one of those "it should work" designs. And, hell, while I'm at it I could look into a filler for the back of the neck as well (because why not?). But even a very thin skin of Blu Tack (or similar) would easily stop it from being obvious, if not making it practically invisible.

I'm just not sure why it's such a big deal. I mean yeah it does stand out a little, but it's hardly the first time that sort of thing has ever happened - and it's not even the most egregious opening on this figure. But there are always going to be design compromises for things like pegs, tabs, etc, and trying to cover those up is part of why figures are getting so insanely expensive (greed and a heavy dose of "because people will pay it" being the rest of why). It's easy enough for us as end users to look at it and feel like a tiny block of plastic, or foam, or whatever could fix it, but doing that at the factory is potentially thousands in extra masters to make those parts rather than a quick 3D print.

He keeps looking better and better with each picture! - Think I'll display mine with the smiling face and put the miniatures next to MP-36.

i'm betting when most people have this inhand the neck won't be an issue , pics often make things look worse than they actually are

The neck build is not entirely uncommon to XTB figures. Upon a cursory check, their Seaspray and Cliffjumper (and therefor Hubcap as well) have similar neck gaps. There's probably others, I haven't done a full collection check.

Solution is pretty easy. Just don't pose Perceptor looking up so extremely. Most of his screentime, Perceptor spends looking downwards, at one of his experiments anyways. He's not big on huge, exaggerated action poses.

So is that supposed to be a martini glass or an Erlenmeyer flask?
