Yep, it's actually red plastic painted yellow with a pale blue translucent insert.

And I wish for once they could get the scale right between these two...

Yeah! I wanna know as well! They like AWESOME!

I can understand that. Soundmixer still hits the old CHUG design aesthetics I like as well.

Well, I stand corrected, thanks to In Demand toys new product shots.

Still, they might do one for a multipack.

Thrilled with Blaster, although finagling his leg into place around his right hand (with the pointy finger) is pretty fiddly.

Less impressed by Eject. One of the few G1 toys I ever owned, and obviously he's slightly smaller than the original, but I'm surprised that after 40 years of toy engineering advances, somehow this one is LESS sophisticated? The G1 toy's head popped out automatically when you unfolded him. This one you've just got to find either a screwdriver or a small child to wedge their fingernail into the gap?!

Ours had some QC issues with the face paint and filled in some small missing bits with weathering powder for now.

The loss of blast effects compatibility is annoying after getting used to it for WFC.

    Don't like transparent Eject either.

Overall, like the figure, though. He's got a good hefty size.

He does make Netflix Soundwave look short. He's about the same size as SS-83 Soundwave.

Note: Our Netflix Soundwave has the Go Better add-on parts and red lines from pinstripe tape; SS-83 Soundwave has a chest cavity mod to fit WFC Ravage.

Wow what was the chest cavity mod you did on SS86 SW to hold wfc cassettes? Thats killer man!

Request for a picture, can Blaster's crooked finger reach his waist buttons like how Soundwave can reach the eject button on his shoulder (as in, it looks like he's pressing down on one of his waist buttons)? I feel like it'd look unnatural without the wrist swivel, which he doesn't seem to have?

I don't understand the point of the faux speaker on the legs. Was it that difficult to engineer a leg that turned 90 degrees?

He can indeed. You have to bend the wrist in, and possibly the forearm depending on how you have the arm angled, but he can do it.

I like Blaster but dislike to techno-greebling on alt mode. Can’t we get a clean mode to match Netflix SW?

As with some other folks, my Eject has some stress marks appearing around the inside of his knees on the translucent blue bits. Anybody had any breaking yet with these parts?

Ever since Siege this has been a thing and looks to remain a thing. Guess it's another way for them to ensure we'll buy any updates that come along because the figures we have now won't "match" him or the other figures.

I think the TR alt mode is a hell of a lot cleaner than this one. They kinda went overboard with the tech detail.

I like it. Detail in robot mode gives the characters flavor, like they’re living things, part of our world.

Besides - how would you feel if you went to bed with your normal skin - hair, pores, etc. - and then you wake up in the morning with the skin of a mannequin? It’d be weird, right?

I’m ok with the bot mode, I just wish the alt mode was slab sided. Netflix Soundwave is a good example.

It’s those black knobs, and vents and such that just make it too busy IMHO. It’s the lack of design continuity that’s frustrating.

That depends. Was there anything there on his legs that mattered?
