I get what they were going for since Kronis was seriously messed up by Skeletor before Tri-Klops rebuilt him into Trapjaw, but the execution leaves something to be desired for sure. Thankfully the jaw is hinged amd will cover that. Plus it's not like his jaw is ever shown going that low in any media I'm aware of. Looks like something that can easily be ignored.
Nice, I finished Faker the head is as is though. When I removed the hair it bowed out a little it makes a creepy shadow on his face.
I’m guessing this atrocious headsculpt is why he wasn’t shown at Power Con. I wouldn’t call myself an expert on MOTU lore, but I don’t ever recall Trapjaw being a tongue-grinning lizard man .
Trapjaws face is too weird. I half wonder if it's just an error with the prototype picture there and the jaws not meant to open that far down.
Ok, sorry for another post, but if you google Trap Jaw Revelations and look at the concept art and screen shots, you’ll see that this headsculpt is show-accurate. Apparently, Revelations treats Trapjaw’s lower jaw as though it’s the base of a helmet, not an actual jaw. I might have to rewatch the first season to confirm. Edit: and I’m wrong/forgot, he was shown at Power Con, but the jaw was not pulled down.
I think this is definitely an issue with the sculpt, there's a lack of understanding how teeth sit in a face. Maybe it was a decision for the sake of molding to prevent any spots where the mold would lock, but I just don't know how it made it through with such a wide toothline. I already had issues with the large jaw, but this sort of forces me to have to come up with a better head. He was at power con, just not shown off as much as Tri-Klops
My walmart is still unloading Christmas. Its a shipping issue not a deliberate choice. As soon as the shipping containers get unloaded and relrased the warehouses send the stuff out. Doesnt matter if the season is over, they cant exactly hold it til next year.
The issue isn't the missing jaw, it's the giant toothline that the head has. Even in Revelations Trapjaw’s teeth fell on a normal bite, not an over-exaggerated grin. So the issue is that instead of looking like the left image, which is more of a standard bite, it ends up looking like the right which feels goofy and cartoonish.
Ah! I see what you mean. I’m just all sorts of confused by the anatomy of what they were trying to go for here. That bit of green stretching under his face, the elongated teeth (as you pointed out), and his tongue, just make no sense to me. If you have no lower jaw, you have no tongue. And I always felt Trapjaw having a mechanical jaw is kinda his schtick. Here’s hoping Masterverse continues and we get an OG minicomic deco in the New Eternia line, so we can swap out the heads.
