That\'s... not too bad actually. Definitely a good replacement for the one included with Slag.

This guy along with the upcoming Core Wheelie really make me question Hasbro's choice of adding non-transforming characters with Grimlock and Slag instead of swords, if they were planning on releasing transforming versions anyway.

And it's not for movie accuracy either going by Gnaw getting his gun when he didn't have it in the film.

Count me among those that hope this means a Verity Carlo figure at some point.

 

Obviously to sell the Dinobots again with different colors and swords.

I already have two of Grimlock and Slag to display in both modes, and plan on doing the same for the rest of the Dinobots.

I'm also hoping for them in toy colors (with extra weapons) and their G2 colors....and I mean ALL of their G2 colors.

It's definitely disappointing. But at this point I'm wondering what they'll do for the remaining Dinobots. Are they getting giant swords or are they also getting useless, kinda crap figures like the ones before? Slag and Daniel was already a stretch, but the remaining Dinobots had such a tiny role that I can't think of any semi-appropriate figures for them. Not to mention that they never transformed in the Movie, so these toys transforming is so inaccurate to the Movie it's retroactively ruining the first time I watched it.

 

Relieved that the shoulders are mis-transformed in the box, looks great on the back render!

 

Not gonna lie, that looks leaps and bounds better than that near-statue we got with Slug.

Not sure how it'll look next to the ER CJ/Bee mold, but it won’t be the end of the world, right?

Wait, isn't it because VW are super-testy about Hasbro using an actual VW Bee as a model or did I misunderstand the situation there?

 

Because the ones that come with those figures are sculpted specifically to interact with them to recreate scenes from the movie. Something larger core class figures wouldn't be able to do.

I don't understand why this has been such a perplexing issue for so many posters here.

Surprisingly, the Daniel exo-suit figure from Studio Series Slug has the exact same transformation instructions.

My prediction : Sludge with Kranix, Swoop with nothing (rumoured to be a voyager). No idea for Snarl. He was blink and you miss moment in the film, what scene could they want to recreate ? Maybe he’ll come with a sword, thinking about it, I don’t remember ever seeing Snarl with something else than his sword.
