Still applies under "colours not final and may change in final result". I still find it absolutely hilarious people where threatening legal action. That was the icing on the cake.
The lighter purple has much better contrast against the black, which I prefer. Oh well. We get what we get. I’ve got 3 preordered at $175 each so I’m good.
I have those FT Insecticons, and the purple is far more purple in real life, just goes to show how purple doesnt photograph well.
I’m noticing a lot of this negative energy feeds off it self. Not everyone is a TT MP lover . I’ve never once cancelled a preorder due to color … you either like the figure , or you don’t . To have your mind made up based on random photos , without ever seeing it with your own eyes just shows , your interest was never really serious from the get go .
I'm not a fan of the purple but nothing's stopping me from buying him. It will be the first time i've ever had all of the main Seekers and that's all I really care about.
Same here. I don't really buy multiple of molds, like ever. This will be the first time I have. (Ironhide and Ratchet was the first, but they are a bit more than just different colors though)
It’s interesting that those of us who are still really keen to receive him, myself included, have all expressed they aren’t keen on the purple. I love the mould so much I don’t care about the shade of purple anymore, but id still love to know TT’s logic behind the decision to switch hues.
Yep. Agree. For me personally, as I posted a few pages back.....THIS shade of purple IS INDEED shown many times over in the G1 cartoon; so it's not that they went with something out of left field. Again, it's more along the lines of preferences. (and the fact that it was shown one way initially) But you nailed it on the head when you spoke to the awesomeness of the mold! I haven't stopped playing with both my SS and my TC since getting TC a few days ago!
With the exceptions of Soundwave/ tapes and Scourge, the remaining Sunbow Decepticons will have sine shade of purple. I wonder is their thinking was going with this slightly more intense shade would allow things to better matchup with later releases
The issue is not that the purple looks different under different lighting (a la MP Shockwave), it’s that TT changed the colors between prototype and final release without showing what the actual figure looks like before release. It’s no wonder people feel blindsided by it. It seems it’s not a big enough issue for most folks to cancel their order, but it is a legitimate concern.
I'm bummed as well, that lavender in the initial promo pics was just perfect but like you guys said and I've gone to looks at loads of clips myself, the colour TT seems to have used appears way too often in the toon for it to be simply dismissed as TT fucked up. A bit bummed but I'm sure in hand he won't look quite as bad as most of pics here have him. What would be hilarious would be TT releasing an MP- 52++Skywarp, lavender coloured, just like the promo pics a couple of months after this release. The salt levels on this forum to TT's high level trolling would be biblical, mine included, of course.

I ordered from TCP. I got no such notice. I also did not preorder with them when he first came out though
