Well, I opened up my copy as a Christmas present to myself, he was $56 on Amazon when I got him, and I would not have picked him up at the full $100, since I just have a lot of problems with him. While I was lucky and my trailer doesn't have the folding issue to a terrible degree, it's still fiddly to get fitted together, and keeping the sword and gun inside the main trailer with the giant mounted cannon is not possible, which is pretty annoying. My main gripes, though, are with the actual figure, since he's just got so many little things I do not like. Those hands are destined to explode, I can already see the hinges on both index fingers flexing, and it doesn't help with how tightly it and the other 4 fingers slide along each other when doing any posing, or the general tightness of the fingers in general. The transformation is a pain in the ass and requires quite a bit of plastic flexing, in particular folding the wheels into the calves and plugging the spoiler into the back. The whole vehicle mode, at least, looks pretty sweet, and I like the battle station mode (and I've seen a couple ways to turn it into an throne, which I quite like).

Overall, I think I got my money's worth, but I'm still not particularly satisfied. The transformation is not fun, and I find his robot mode a bit off with the giant hands and the decrepit face (both of which have been commented on hundreds of times, I know), but he at the very least looks nice posed in any mode you put him in. If you can find him for cheap, maybe pick him up, but he's not worth the $100, no way in hell.

EDIT: After fiddling with him quite a bit more and comparing him against other figures I have (mostly Hot Rod and Optimus), he's better than I thought. Transformation goes more smoothly after you've gone it a few times, but that folding on the calf section is still bad, and those hands are still a ticking timb bomb. And he poses damn well, I'll admit, even despite his giant hands.

I used to find the decrepit face bothersome but after it's repainted in grey..not anymore lol

Yeah, I'm hoping to do something like that. It's just that the silver accentuates those sculpted cheekbones way too much, it makes his face look sunken in.

    2 questions:

    1. My calves don’t lock together, am I doing something wrong?

    2. Does the chest lock in place or just float there?

    much thanks.

Edit: Figured out the chest. Now just the calves.

Does anyone happen to have pictures of Rodimus holding some variation of the MP-10 Matrix, if that's even possible? I feel like the Matrix mold used throughout WFC is too small for him (it's a bit too small for holding in general, but it's especially pronounced with this figure where he's stuck holding it with his index fingers), but I don't have an MP-10 figure of my own to try it with.

Kingdom Rodimus Prime is as Sky Lynx would say, "Magnificent".

The transformation isn't bad at all. Certainly not as bad as some are making it out to be. However, I will say that at least three or four of the connection points during transformation are a **SCARY** tight fit. The operation of folding the back vehicle wheels into the robot mode calves isn't ideal. It requires some stress on the plastic at a couple of different points.

This figure also isn't a Voyager or a Leader. As others like to dictate just based on the height of Commander Rodimus. If you've handled Kingdom Rodimus alongside a Leader or a Voyager Figure, you'd understand what I'm saying. The heft and build make this more than a Leader or a Voyager.

He's much more than a Leader and a little less than a Commander. He's a Leadmmander.

With that said, easily the best Rodimus Prime we've ever received. And that includes the MP. A top 5 figure of the year for sure:

Welp, despite me saying I had no need for him, 'cos he was too rich for my blood, and I had POTP Rodimus so I was fine with him etc etc... I finally caved and bought him (him being 15 quid off helped :p  ), and he arrived today.

    Good god he's gorgeous.

But that's not why I'm writing this post. I noticed something about him, and I have no clue if it's deliberate, but if it is, it's THE most obscure homage I've ever seen in my sodding life.

Basically, check this out at the 9m20s mark:

See it? The animation error that makes Rodimus go GIGGIDY? I first remember spotting that when I was a wee nipper, but that's beside the point.

    The point is this:

Thanks to having a hinge at the bottom of the neck, and a balljoint at the top, THE TOY CAN BLOODY WELL DO THAT! HA!

It's probably not on purpose, and it's probably just a joint for the transformation, but it made my day. :p

I posted this in another thread but it bears repeating here too:

In my experience, no modification is needed whatsoever to fix Rodimus Prime's trailer closing issue. No rubber bands. No heat. No nail polish, no future floor polish, no super glue, no sanding. No disassembly.

I just got this figure and had the standard trailer closing issue. No matter what I tried, the trailer wouldn't close at all. I hit YouTube and found this fix: Just flip the blast shields on the turret upwards instead of downwards.

The reason for this is when the blast shields are flipped downwards, this causes the turret to bend upwards slightly which is just enough to cause the trailer halves not to close.

    Worked like a charm:

I haven't had any issue with the trailer closing and thought I had just lucked out QC wise, but I have been doing it this way the whole time. I think the issue is the blast shields come folded down in the box when you buy it. But I believe the instructions show the correct way (folded up) if I recall.

You're correct. The stock way that the blast shields are folded in the package is in the downward position.

I found and bought this guy on sale (clearance, I guess) at Walmart a couple days ago. I like him more than I expected to. In-hand, the vehicle mode isn’t as fugly as I expected. And, the bot transformation is actually a lot more complex than I thought it would be. He gives me MP28 Hot Rod vibes. He works fine, overall. I think my only complaint is the rears of his calves. Perhaps I need to fiddle with it some more, but I kinda have to bend things a little to get the wheels in place inside of his legs and the rear covers don’t close very securely. He’s nice, and I can see where he demands a commamder price…at least compared to the typical modern leader class figures.

Complex is fine, but did you have trouble snapping the head, chest and back in? I spent two days struggling with those parts because I didn't want to break my figure. Eventually, I had to apply so much pressure that I'm surprised that I didn't break it.

Still a nice figure and I'm not even a Rodimus fan .

That silver clip that locks the head/chest/back together was tight. I had to fidget with it. I could see what I had to do and just did my best to only apply pressure where needed. It didn’t break, but it was definitely unnecessarily tight.

Yeah it's a shame. Hasbro Pulse just sent me a free Inferno and I wanted to take a pic with him, Huffer, Optimus, Magnus and Rodimus in truck mode, but I don't think I can go through trying to convert him robot again afterwards.

And you're absolutely right about the calf clips. They're entirely to loose and will not stay clipped into place. Fortunately, I just pose my figures to look at. Anyone trying to play with certain characters will be frustrated with parts popping loose.

I’m hoping maybe the calves will break in or something. Like, maybe the hinge that allows the wheel part to swing into the leg just needs to loosen up or something. Who knows. It’s like a booger on a supermodel at this point. Gross…but I’d still hit it…lol…

    Lazy Saturday afternoon.

Got it on clearance. Not bad at all.

EDIT: I’m going to just edit in here my thoughts.

First up the trailer doesn’t close flush. No matter what. I’ve tried a lot of variations but it ain’t working. I can try some more serious fixes, but honestly I don’t care that much. The trailer was stuffed onto a shelf to be forgotten anyways.

Now Rodimus himself is clearly something special. I have the S86 Hot Rod and that’s an amazing figure too. I think it may be the better figure? I have to use way too much force on this figure in places I’m not all that comfortable forcing. But I’m worried if I sand pegs down they won’t hold.

There’s a lot of clever stuff going on here. I just wish it took less force to execute.

Yeah the trailer not closing is quite common. I've had two, and kept the one with the less severe problem. I'm thinking about brushing some epoxy in that one tab on the upper front and see if that makes the tab thick enough to stay in place.

Unfortunately, having to apply so much pressure appears to be common too. I spent two days trying to transform him because I was afraid I was going to break something. Now that it's transformed, one of the tightest pieces, the windshield in the back seems to be a lot looser now. I still don't know if Ill ever convert him to a truck again though.

Im considering Hotrod, but he's basically just a small Rodimus, so I dunno yet. Do they have a simular transformation?
