Hey everyone. Been a while since I last customized Transformers, but thought I'd add these here. Finally got the Final Victory 3-pack last night. Wanted them for the shelf presence. All needed a little touch-up and Autobot symbols. Repainted Huffer's thighs, abs, and chest with a custom mix of blue and grey tamiya acrylics. Added a dark grey to Brawn's helmet, as well as silver and blue to his stomach. Finally, added a little silver to Warpath's stomach.
Hey everyone. Wanted to share some very minor work I did to SS86 Slag First off, I just HAD to paint his "cheeks". Without the paint, his face just didn't look right to me. I then went and added a fix to his drooping head plate issue. Glued a little styrene to the back of his chest, just under the "box" at the top. Has just enough strength to keep the head plate flush with his shoulders... ..and doesn't effect his dino mode at all
I have a Crossover Thor that's been sitting around for years waiting for the Powerglide treatment. Good to see yours! It might motivate me to finally do the job! Also, nice work on the YOTH MP10 parts swapping. I wish I'd thought of that back when those YOTH OPs were cheap and available. I always preferred the dark blue on Prime, to match my original G1-version memories! I dig your Metroplex fixes. The PCC tank guy looks good! I have a spare Impactor destined to become Slammer. More work than just buying the new one that's coming, but I realized I'd prefer an actual transformer to a weaponizer anyway. z
Thank you. Yeah, those crossover figures were fun, weird at the time, but fun. When I found Thor, Powerglide was the first thing I thought of. With Prime, the sad part is that I almost would never have done it. I past on the original MP-10 release because I hadn't heard about the planned "scaling the line". If I had known, I probably would have p/u MP-10 and never given YOTH a shot. I'm glad, now, that they 're-released MP-10 and gave me the opportunity to upgrade. I look forward to seeing your Slammer. I may get the weaponizer version if I see him, but yeah, Metroplex always felt incomplete without the other minions Oh I did. I think you happened to tell me about it in another thread. (I know someone did anyway) I just never got around to taking a photo
I thought they were great for customs when they first came out. I never cared for the "superhero" gimmick, but they were mostly well-designed, big, affordable, robots with decent TF aesthetics (unlike most previous attempts to do "crossover" type figures). I still have a few in a bin waiting to be resurrected for customs... someday. :/ With Prime, the sad part is that I almost would never have done it. I past on the original MP-10 release because I hadn't heard about the planned "scaling the line". If I had known, I probably would have p/u MP-10 and never given YOTH a shot. I'm glad, now, that they 're-released MP-10 and gave me the opportunity to upgrade. heh... now the pressure's on, haha. I should definitely get to it. I just need to decide on a new head, I guess. That might have been me. I'm always saying things like that. z
Finally built up the nerve, last night, to do something I've wanted to do since I bought him... I repainted the hip skirts on Hasbro's MP-11 Starscream. Used some Tamiya gloss red acrylic paint, and carefully painted around the connecting points for alt-mode. Rather minor, I know.. But feels like he's more "complete" now, for some reason.
Do you happen to know where the gun your guzzle is holding came from? I have two of them that came randomly with a figure I bought on eBay, but haven't been able to identify them.
I'm sorry, you're right. They were from Brawn. I was thinking Hailstorm, because I had used him as a custom Guzzle first
Hey everyone. Ever since getting Badcube's Slick (not-Swerve), I've felt he needed a serving tray. After going through my fodder, I realized I had one that I forgot about. Not really sure where it's from, but was picked up in a parts lot on eBay. I just added a handle, made from some styrene sticks, so he can hold it securely. (I still plan to clean it up a little) "Don't forget to 'TIP' your waiter."
Made a custom dinobot team member. No name yet, but wanted something similar to POTP Slash for my "Masterpiece" team (MP-8 Grimlock, and the SS86 dinobots) Took Classics Grimlock, and modified him. Cut a toe off of each dino foot, and turned them into Raptor-like talons. Picked up a second tail, and added 2 sections to add some length to his tail, then added some tamiya gold flake, gloss red, and silver to him. I also added CW Alpha Bravo's gun. *side note though... Can anyone confirm if there is a figure that I can swap dino arms with? Want something a little less T-Rex for him
Hi everyone. I'll be honest, picked up the RP-01 Acoustic Wave KO because it was so much easier for my wallet to deal with. Then my sister got me the RP-01B minions pack for my birthday, and I decided to customize the spare Ravage and Laserbeak. Decided to start with Soundwave. Needed to do the leg swap on mine, but only real work was adding the faction decal and a painted sheet of styrene Next up, repainted the spare Laserbeak into Buzzsaw. Carefully hand painted all of the metallic red with tamiya flat yellow. I haven't decided what I want to do to the "tape" on his belly yet, but happy to have both birds now Finally, decided the spare Ravage would become Howlback. Was easier to just repaint him instead of trying to redesign into a whole new character
Hi all, finally back with a new project. Was originally planning a Masterpiece Shackwave, but discovered the steps in disassembling MP-29 would be more than I can do right now.. Decided to instead repaint him in the Action Master colors (need more light grey for the waist), and call him "Shockblast, Shockwave's clone" Just gave him a blaster from one of the CW Aerialbots, and trying to figure out how to make a Fistfight partner for him
Finished Shockblast. Now I need to track down Action Masters "Fistfight". Should be easy enough to convert them for Masterpiece use *and thinking about it, maybe I'll track down an AM Wingthing too. MP-13 Soundwave looks more like the Action Master Soundwave compared to the "toon-like" RP-01 Acousticwave
