I think it's shelf warming at Kapow and OmegaLock because they're asking almost 40 GBP plus shipping costs more than ShowZ did for example. Why would I pay more than 40 GBP extra if I can purchase the same item at ShowZ for less, and where they provide much better service than you get at Kapow? (I don't know about OmegaLock, I've never ordered there.) That it's sold out at the shops mentioned by Teletran-1 says enough I think.

He's listed as in stock at A3U's Canadian site, $309 CAD, and free shipping in Canada.

I'm happily surprised it's still in stock at Hasbro Pulse.

I'm not sure if I'm missing something but show z has this at 260 dollars which is £190 GBP, which is pretty much the same as Omegalock.

The coneheads were similarly overpriced ttmall items, which all ended up on discount on kapow so I don't think it's anything out of the ordinary.

Thundercracker was 164 GBP earlier, as I paid 195 euro. That's including shipping, compared to 200 GBP at Kapow and OmegaLock, which is excluding shipping. So the difference is over 40 GBP including shipping.

Is it even a bad thing that some places still have him? This isn't a FT release where production is purposefully limited and each vendor only gets so many causing instant sell-outs. Isn't it a good thing that people who didn't pre-order can wait a couple months to buy and still get one without paying a really high late tax?

I'm not saying the latest MPs aren't without issues, but I don't know that this is a sign. Or even a bad thing.

Right. TT products usually aren’t selling out and becoming scarce after just a few months. I can’t remember a time it was that way anyways. Higher production numbers ensures availability.
Are they over priced? Yes. But so are their last dozen releases or so, so that’s a whole nother conversation

Right, I only began collecting MPs back in November of last year. I've been able to get every Sunbow character back to MP-12 brand new (and all authentic Takara) with relatively little effort. Only had to resort to non-US stores for 3 or 4 figures. Definitely had to pay a premium for many of the older ones, but only a few were more than ~25% over the original price points.

Having said that, availability has really dropped since I began collecting. I would be in real trouble if I only started now.

I think you quoted the wrong person. It was @malware5 that saw "shelf warming" as a bad sign.

Got my Amazon Thundercracker today, it just wasn’t worth fighting GameStop after they already refunded me for the one they never shipped. At least with Amazon I still got him at a slight discount.

Thundercracker is lucky that he’s gorgeous in hand and that goes a long way to smoothing things over

Just got this guy today. Fantastic.

But how on earth is a second run figure THIS much tighter and more seemingly better in the QC department than the first run Starscream.

I mean, this guy is ROCK solid everywhere.

Think it as simple as they can now go back and see where things broke down and fix or change them.

Yeah, but it's not so much the problem issues that plagued SC, like that ankles and stuff ...I'm just talking about overall joint tolerances and such.

Rare to see that on a second run of a mold, no?

I can only think of the mp12 hands and the mp11 repaints waist , where they didnt fix a tolerance/ mechanical issue between runs. They're actually pretty good about the 2nd run/reissue of a mold.

There’s been a few copies reported with issues but not many. 1 hip ratchet joint on mine doesn’t click into place as much as the other and 1 knee is looser than the other. No cracks on the ankle/feet/engine nozzles unlike my Starscream. Also the pin on 1 thumb was fired at a slightly offset angle but not off enough to damage it thank goodness. Hip/knee joints aside the joints on mine are better toleranced compared to my Starscream.
