It's a handsome gray. But I am with you - there is something not quite right about it. Not sure if it's the chest vents (perhaps) they should be darker? Different topic - why is TFSource all over the place with the pricing for this particular mold? They are listing M52 Starscream for $280; MP Skywarp for $225; and MP Thundercracker for $256. And Thundercracker has the least accessories and no base. Goes to show how much they are marking the figures up.
This might get some of you guys mad... but his fingers are indigo... mwa ha ha ha ha . Looking at his right shoulder and forearm in that review, I also see the same areas of blemishes that affected TC. So just be prepared folks.
I ordered from BBTS and it breaks my frikkin heart that I probably won't have this in hand until late February/March (shipping delays)! He looks absolutely STUNNING!
Looks like the blast effects are all not the same colour between SS, TC and SW. That's a shame since I was hoping there could be a matching pair with TC and SW.
Did a quick unscientific comparison. The color isn't too far off based on a random cartoon image. Of course there's a ton of variation, so he's probably correct at some point depending on where you look. Color samples are from the shoulders where it's actually a bit darker from the lighting. It's much lighter on the lit sections. Definitely a more saturated color, which TC kind of had as well
I keep going back to this photo. Good image quality. There doesn’t seem to be any photoshopping or studio lights blowing colors out. Basic photo and I think he looks great. If he looks like this everyday sitting on my shelf I’m 100% satisfied.
Thundercracker comes with the same stand as Starscream and Skywarp. The only difference between Thundercracker and Skywarp is that Skywarp comes with an extra mini Megatron gun. All other accessories are the same between Thundercracker and Skywarp.
Gorgeous photos. You can clearly see how different the purple of Skywarp is compared to the purple of the stand, for those who wrongly thought that it's the same.
Blue? Purple? It’s the Blurple war all over again lol! Personally, I’m good either way and will wait to see it in hand. I know how troublesome purple is to shoot so I’m not overly stressed. Plus, I’m one who’s always leaned more towards the darker purple for SW. But, he varied enough on the show that I’ll be happy either way.
Finally got around to opening this guy up!! My favorite Decepticon, finally gets his due let me first say the QC is pretty great—I only have Starscream as I don’t care that much about Thundercracker and am content with my SIEGE and ER versions, but the joints and paint etc are tighter/better than Starscream, at least my copy. Also, the purple photographs kind of weird—I’m on an iPhone XS Max, but it does look a bit darker in photos than the actual product. I think most people who are worried will be pleased with what they get. I put in a comparison pic with Kingdom Galvatron so you can see two different purples side-by-side
I think these newer pics show they nailed it. Skywarp has always had a colder purple. I have no doubt it will be pale enough in person.
The reviewer says the new purple is close to ultramarine. I’m almost at this point. But there’s still this tiny bit of hope that, seeing and having it in hand, I will be able to forget and accept the change.
