    Lol!!

I can’t remember if this guy was in the 15 inch or 18 inch range, I think it was 15, but judging by the silhouette, it wouldn’t be entirely impossible to add at least 1 inch or so to his height. He *almost* has gorilla arms to start with, so it’s not impossible. But like I said, it’s only a possibility:/

Hell, it could just be a stall tactic, because they don’t have anything to show. Like when my wife calls the restaurant because our takeout is late, and they say “oh he’s on his way out the door right now“…..lol

    …..Right.

Eh, combiners already tend towards having overlong forearms.

I hate having to wait even longer, but if it's for this reason that's more palatable.
I would imagine "look" and "redesign" doesn't necessarily mean 100% start over. I mean, it still has to combine with the limbs the same way to generally the same proportions. Like, the "CAD skeleton" of it should be the same, no?

It is possible since it's from the same design team which did Cang Predaking (which in my taste has gong too far).

Really hope they don't blow up Hun-Gurr and try to stretch Abominus up to 20 inch Constructor range.

18 inch would be great and not too much of a stretch from the previous height. Perfectly fits in with OX Assaultus and their upcoming Defensor.

Perfectly fair. Unlike some combiners I love the individual bots more than Abominus, so I'm happy to have them regardless.

    They're not.

    XTB is KFC, not TFC.

With some luck they turn him into a pantsformer and give Abominus a proper MP Combiner height. If that happens I will immediately buy all the limbbots. :D

Wouldn't the limb-bots be too short to extend to that high?

Any got comparisons with say Zeta or Cang limbs?

They are about the same height as the XTB Stunticons and Protectobots, and their Menasor and Defensor manages to be almost the same height as the Toyworld and Zeta combiners. Granted, much of Menanor hinges on his trailer-made skeleton, but if XTB can pull it off with Defensor, I don't see why TFC couldn't with Abominus. I'd even accept if he was 'just' 45cm instead of 50.

Provided that TFC's arm-bots are properly sized when transformed into limbs, I don't see why they couldn't work with a much larger frame. I get why some people don't like pantsforming, but in practice it just works better. Better proportions, stability and solidness, so yeah... I am all for it. :)

Seems XTB is making First Aid & Blades larger to fully fit as arms for their Defensor. I'd bet like with their Menasor, Groove & Streetwise will be more shin-fillers than actually limbs

God no with the pantsforming. That'd really kill my enthusiasm for the set. Pantsforming just really detracts from the beauty of combiners; getting five dudes into a single humanoid form. I can give a pass to hands and feet since those are far more difficult to integrate into the limbs. Combiners have done without pants since the start of the brand.
I guess I can understand the need when the combined mode is gigantic and extra stability is required, but these dudes are Voyager size. I don't see the need for the extra sturdiness. Nor do I think he needs the extra height. Not everything needs to be "MP" scale. Besides, TFC Poseidon has great proportions and doesn't have pants. I don't have Poseidon, but I do have Gravity Builder and Feral Rex and they too are well proportioned and solid to boot. (And as for Gravity Builder, I find him to be far more proportionally pleasing than Constructor, but I digress.)
So yeah, pass on the pants. It can be done without.

Anywho, I opened Astaroth. What a fun dude. Beast mode is far superior to a rather boring robot, but the transformation is kinda neat. Love how the front beast limbs do a little switcheroo with the robot arms into and out of the torso. And as for leg more, I find it funny the instructions tell you to convert it a certain way, but the final image is of... A completely different (and arguably better) configuration lol.
I'm going to spread out opening them, but so far very impressed!

I'm mixed, if the intent of the set is G1 accuracy, I suppose partforming is acceptable for achieving it.

    If stylized, get creative.

That's why I'm cool with Cang's pants ape

Yeah, I’d rather pay for an extra figure rather than some pants.

Yeah, I'd probably be out if they did parts forming. The scale is already off and they clearly aren't going for the typical mp look. If it was under the Cang Toys banner maybe but seeing as it's under the TFC banner I'd rather it scale with my Poseidon
