I been eyeing iron factory for about a year now. And with seeing animated prowl, lockdown, and Leo Kaiser I'm finally jumping off the cliff!

 

I just realized that there's no mention of the Frumble duo in the most recent release news...

I think I read somewhere that thew are not expected to come with Soundwave 2.0, and that they'd likely be a separate set to be released later than Soundwave. Did anyone catch any updates on that?

Can't recall where but I heard as you said. They will be sold separately a think a short while after their soundwave is released.

 

I'm loving the step away from the US g1 stuff in the 2022 line, market over saturated. Samurai stylized and JpG1 beastforce, im all in!!!

 

Do the new getting good ? last one i got is the 30D darkness Jetfire and it is huge dissapointed.
My most wanted set since i too late for the original color. but very loose. The hand that holding the weapon could fall of with just gravaty alone. And it is the only hane that transformable. The other hand not as loose but cant transform.
The plastic feel also cheap. I though i get some cheap 4rd product with this one.

 

I overall really enjoy my copy of Dark Cygnus, but I admit that I had the same issue with the weapon-holding set of hands, which is definitely disappointing.

The other IF bot I got recently is Power Falcon and the quality is great in that one.

Has anyone asked if yet whether art fire is gonna come with his target master?

 

Iron Factory stuff I like and a buy it - sure it's a bit to "needlessly fiddly" sometimes - & they are far from being fiddleformers because of that.
I don't know what their weird yes/no thing with IDW is though it's like someone flips a coin and decides if something is going to be based more on G1, brand new or based on a comic design when they make stuff - it's really random though.

I don't dislike the Samurai stuff over all. It kinda reminds me of the samurai Spawn and Star Wars toys. My only concern really is with how fiddly they will be with that scale and all those armour panels. I think Iron Factory might need to (where comics allow) work on their vehicle modes a bit - I mean I know IDW Soundwave is kinda terrible - but is he really 'that bad looking' in vehicle mode ?

But I guess overall despite not really caring very much about the comics - I long since stopped paying any attention to them.. they obviously like them though.. I wonder when they will get around to doing an IDW inspired Hot Rodimus toy ? No one's done that in a small size yet - it's always G1 based when someone makes one.

As for what I am looking forwards too the most - probably Beachcomber and Seaspray. and possibly Lockdown.
I will likely get Bludgeon and Banzai-tron but I am a bit iffy on the alt modes for them to be honest... they look like a collsiion between a Metal Slug tank and a Kabuki Theatre,


I do kinda hope they repaint their warpath sometime though as Treadshot and Treads though - I like that mould a lot. & Hound as Detritus would be nice too - after all they go way over the top on "seeker" repaints so why not on the other moulds with obvious repaints too - I notice we may still actuall be missing a few jet colour yet despite the sheer volume of the things too so they can still keep throwing them out so long as people keep buying them.

Also if they have something against Bumblebee - couldn't they are least do a GoldBug instead ?

 

Soundwave's vehicle mode is pretty poor, but I think that's mainly because somebody decided that an third-party SW without a tape deck mode wouldn't sell, so they had to make it a triple changer on a small scale and the vehicle mode got compromised.

They have teased a upcoming Bumblebee which is probably going to be a retool of their Cliffjumper, they just have a lot of new stuff in the pipeline right now. Iron Factory Bumblebee

(My personal future hope would be an IDW Barricade, so I don't have to go to the trouble of customising one, but I realise he's probably a bit too niche to be viable.)

Yeah, I can see that working, even though the alt mode doesn't look much like a car. I'm going to work with Exhaust - IDW Barricade used the design of War For Cybertron Barricade, and I've seen decent customs of WFC Barricade using a Prime Wheeljack, so in a loosely-connected way the Wheeljack mould is close enough for me with a repaint. I'd have liked to have gotten a Bluestreak from the tactical trio set, but I have no idea where I'd get one of those for non-crazy money.

 

So, the figures that have my eye for 2022 are

- Soundwave V2
- Pipes
- Grimlock
- Artfire
- Liokaiser

And that's roughly in the order that I think they'll release. I also am tempted by Seaspray, but I'm not sure yet.

Alsooo, I did purchase a Powerglide from TCP, but I didn't realize that I should've left Planet X Cacus in Roller's Stash and then asked them to ship the two together to be sure that that happened, and instead they missed my email to try and send Powerglide, too, so, alas, I'll have to wait for my Red Falcon to join my display...

Not that I've seen, but it would be a neat addition! Unfortunately, I'm not too confident that it'll happen.

Still, I am thinking I might pick that up, since I've always liked the Artfire color scheme, but not enough to pick up a figure, yet.

I would love a Detritus, too, and I am saddened they haven't done that, yet. Similarly, I prefer the facemask on Goldbug to OG Bumblebee, so that'd be dope, too.

And, Iron Factory could do the spirit quest vision of what Starscream would look like if he hadn't been constructed cold from 'Til All Are One, but I don't think that's something any company at any scale is liable to do anytime, soon.

Still, they could do that dark green blue Starscream that was done for the Masterpiece line by good ol Shoji Kawamori.

And another far afield idea would be painting up the Seekers like the CyberJets, tho perhaps with facemasked heads, of course.

Orrr, they're own Dreadwing and Smokescreen!!! 0o0
