No regrets, but there are things I don’t like. Not getting a single foot stand, and how terrifyingly stiff his wing joints are, primarily. Mine also had his midsection turned 45’ from center, and it was a PITA to get it lined up properly. I expected him to be a wee bit smaller as well, but that’s more of a bonus, as he scales well with my Mcfarlane Batman’s. (Not pictured, Mcfarlane Batman’s )
Hopefully soon. NECA tweeted that they're hoping Demona and Bronx come out in March and that Hudson is slated for Spring... and that they'll have ten more figures to show at Toy Fair.
Mine arrived. Dorkside toys came through, despite the fishy shit. Which is a shame because the figure actually kind of sucks. The articulation is stiff and limited, and the joints for the elbows and ab crunch are just hideous. The wings feel brittle, like they're going to snap any time now, and I'm honestly shocked they went with a bendy tail. It looks so bad against the rest of the toy. There was one pose I wanted to get out of this guy, and that was when Goliath throws his arms and wings into the air after finding what he believes to be Demona's remains, and the articulation is so shitty he can't even come close. Basically the few awkward, unfinished poses you see in pics are the extent of his movement. Also the facesculpt is just really weird. I don't know why his face is so gaunt. I never thought of Goliath as a young guy, but it's like he has no fat content on his body at all, and his cheeks are pretty much nonexistent. Maybe it's not the worst thing that these figures aren't getting released in Canada. I don't think I'll be missing out on much. Really disappointed. EDIT: Oh, and both headsculpts have deformities on the hair from the packaging, and the belt is deformed from the twist ties. Gotta love that NECA quality!
I found an 8 pack of NECA bases on Amazon and then accidentally ordered them when I forgot they were in my basket ordering an album for my Mom. But I have the NECA ‘90 Turtles, so the extras won’t go to waste. I won’t have to keep eyeballing Leonardo, waiting for his next stage dive.
I hope we get more Gargoyles soon here. I haven't taken my Goliath out of the box yet as I want to see how the line fares after being burned on a few other toylines in the past...most recently the Bucky O Hare line from Boss Fight Studios...
I've had Goliath in my hands at least three different times and each time I see "Neca" on the box and put him back down. Truthfully, I wouldn't be doing much posing with him at all, but my most recent experiences with figures from that company has been so sub-par... I just can't do it. You all are making me feel better about my decisions.
... Well, he did spend a lot of time frozen in stone. Probably takes a minute for the old brain to degravel.
They're coming, as fast as they can in the insane covid era. Gotta get through the shitshow of the holidays then they can resume a normal schedule of releases. Thailog's already starting to trickle out and, as much as I want them too, it'll be nice to have a breather between releases to help my wallet. If they can manage say, 2 per quarter that would be awesome. EDIT: Ooooh, just saw the Bronx packaging on Facebook and they showed Lex, Brooklyn and Broadway headshots. Now this is getting good...
So they're seemingly giving more cartoon-accurate faces to literally everyone except Goliath? So much for consistency.
Yeah, they seem to look more cartoon inspired than Goliath, but with realistic detail. Would be nice if they added a more cartoon inspired Goliath head on a future release.
I can kind of see their giant TMNT output this year as being a reason they've been slow on the Gargoyles releases.
