You know titles generally aren't literal right? And it's more about the War of the Threefold Spark than the current one.

Although if IDW's days with Transformers is indeed coming to a close, it may become more literal than initially intended.

    That's what I assumed, I don't see IDW2 lasting past this miniseries.

With all these Rust Worms on the covers, I'm hoping that means
    Skytread returns with a vengeance!!

I wanted to like this series but the writing and artwork were not good. Not even by current IDW2 standards.

The writer just does not get G1 Grimlock’s attitude, motivations, ambitions or even how he talks.

It’s fine if someone does not want to adhere by the original cartoon or comic book incarnations of a character, but if you choose to go against them, you have to make them better than how they were in the 80s, not worse.

It already sounded to me where I saw that art.

I'm not mad I'm just disappointed. So I don't want to cry tracing because I don't think that's the case, I'd say the artist had the stock photo on the right and copied it by eye. I say that because they've managed to drop the ball on a lot of the the perspective and proportions that had they traced 100% would have been fine and a lot of what's new and improvised is just wonky more then likely as a result of them and/or the colourist not really understanding the volumes they've copied.

But hey this shit is fairly common outside of TF circles a lot of "big" twitter artists who only seem to draw attractive people with Disney heads take Instagram photos and draw over the basic forms to pose the character before tweaking anything and even some art programs have 3D intergeneration to allow models to be imported specifically to trace over.

Even though I hate the IDW continuity, you are likely wrong. The artist probably didn't trace the image but instead he/she re-drew the stock photo with a similar pose.

Most comic artists use reference of some sort. Whether it's standing in the mirror, taking photos, etc. I mean, have you never stood up and done a pose to figure out how to pose a figure naturally?

I think there are 2 professional tracers that can be unequivocally called out: Greg Land and Paul Liefeld.

It really is awful. Orlando gets bigged up a lot and I've yet to read anything by him that actually engaged me - even characters I like don't interest me when he writes them.

How dare you attribute my name to that Pouchaphiliac!! It's ROB Liefeld!!

Also Greg Horn, the original Greg Land. Christ, I loathe those two. If you ever want to throw up in your mouth a bit and need a shower, look up Greg Horn's Batman and Catwoman 'painting'....ew.

The war “hasn’t started” to these people because the Ark hasn’t crashlanded on Earth and the theme song hasn’t started

Comics have always been the most intriguing fiction of Transformers. I get the direction this series was going in, but most of the dialogue felt unnatural. Some of the artists, especially in the beginning, were pretty bad as well

More so, I feel like the war hasn't started because there is zero scope of scale to this story. It feels more like a handful of gang skirmishes than a war. I still don't think I really know why conflict started to begin with.

Since they announced IDW is losing the licence I've just completely given up on their stories. I don't see any point in investing my time any further.

Not sure I totally agree with your reasoning, but I can see why you'd feel that way. It does have an air of "oh, what's the point"

Also I love your signature SO MUCH

I dunno, it's kind of like 'this movie will be over in 2 hours, why bother watching it?'.

To me that reads as somebody who was buying something just for the sake of buying it, rather than buying it to enjoy it.
