That's fine, man. Critique away. Read what you want to. I was only pointing out that your story about legions of readers deserting comics because they have suddenly (only recently) become political is just that - a story!

Ha ha! Wait - *we're* the activists now? I can't keep up with this conspiracy stuff.

    Hehehe, it was never subtle!

It's just it's old so the impact to the people complaining about it isn't there. Like, there's stuff incredibly blatant stuff in the 70s. There's comics with anti-hippie messages. There's comics where Lois Lane turns into a Black women so she can learn about their issues.

People did write in and complain about the forced diversity of the All New All Different X-men. You know, introducing a Black women (Storm), a Native America (Thunderhawk), and a Japanese character all at the same time, plus all these other newbies!

Also I think you're either severely underestimating the amount of subtlety in a lot of political books today, or only noticing the ones which are that anvilicious.

People who complain about "activists invading fandoms" are, more often than not, the newcomers themselves. I'm sorry, but this narrative of people from the outside coming to corrupt the fandom or whatever is just nonsense. I'm fine with the people who are anti-humanization for whatever reason. I don't like this sort of anti-fan nonsense.

I've been here longer than Misfire. The reason I'm here - the RPG forum - is dead, but that's translated to a broader fandom.

Also - comics used to be subtle politically? I'm sorry, do you know who TYROC from the Legion of Super Heroes is?

Just own up to the fact you don't like the "wrong" politics in your books, mang.

Also, TF, specifically, has a lot of subtle politics in it. Some overt stuff, but 'these two characters are married,' is not particularly big. Or seeing how certain compromises lead to bigger problems, and such.

It’s unfortunate that you “don’t have time” to research this stuff because if you did you would learn that it’s all not accurate at all.

Seems the closing series, War's End, is announced.
The ongoing seems to end at #41, Beast wars #14.

Curious... where do you see anything about Beast Wars in that article? Because I just read the whole thing and didn't see a single mention.

The only reason TFWiki's list of issues end at 41 and 14 for the Ongoing and BW respectively is because they add issues as they are announced. Ongoing #41 and BW #14 are the latest issues that have been announced. When/if next month's comic solicitations come in with #42 and #15, then they will be added to the wiki.

IDW is in serious trouble. It doesn’t help that for us fans, the quality of the writing and artwork has dropped significantly too. They just keep making dumb decision after dumb decision. And no amount of us fans being upset and telling them to “do better” is helping. At least with IDW we can see they are in their death bed; with Dreamwave it was a sudden unexpected death. Get out while you can IDW writers and artists!

No, Nature Girl wasn’t considered the protagonist of the X-Men Green story. The story told how one well-meaning individual became corrupted and evil through extremism. Wolverine was sent hunt her down and put an end to her, as her actions appalled the main X-Men. Not once was Nature Girl portrayed in a positive way. This wasn’t the writer living out a fantasy of killing people who litter. Instead the message was that activism taken to extreme levels is wrong and very bad.

Either way, it's still a really awful comic. I'd rather read Ikea furniture installation instructions.

It's clear you have a bias that colors your perception of these issues in media, dude. Just admit it and stop calling us activists or whatever. We're people with opinions that are as valid as yours, but come from different first principles.

    All I ask.

Clearly, activists who don't want to read about Optimus Prime and Megatron fighting each other but would rather complain about representation and relatable characters aren't really interested in Transformers comics.

Cool thing about growing up is that you can think of more things to do with our Transformers toys than bashing them together and making explosion noises.

Since this is about IDW potentially losing the Transformers license, here:

Robert Kirkman is getting in trouble with the colorist for the first 50 issues of Invincible because the colorist claims Kirkman duped him into giving Kirkman his share of Invincible and the colorist isn't seeing a dime from the cartoon.

If this situation escalates any further, Hasbro might take the Transformers comic license elsewhere. Maybe BOOM! Studios since they're already familiar with Hasbro IP. (Pure speculation on my end, though.)

Does anyone here even read Skybound comics anyway?
