Probably, but likely just with Kate. Clint - and the actor playing him - clearly wants out of this game/role. Best midcredits? That's debatable. I guess if you are the type who really, really likes musicals. I hate them, and skipped right through this.
Fair, forgot about that one, but still, for her entire introduction movie she had no accent and for like 99% of Avengers she had no accent. It's not like it was something she started with and then dropped (like Hallie Berry's attempt at an African accent for Storm in X-Men that got dropped for the sequels).
I didn’t mind Kate’s interactions with Yelena. One of Kate’s strengths in the show is charisma. Folks like her and don’t really want to go after her if they interact with her longer than a few minutes. You see that three different times in the finale, where Kate is in a fight with someone that clearly outclasses her and comes out on top because they’re not trying to kill her, while she’s just trying to stop/delay them. It even happens early on with Jack while fencing. Or when Kazi could have just shot her in the toy store. That’s an ok crutch for her to survive Season 1. I’d expect if a season two happens that off screen she and Yelena will have become buddies, but other villains will be more cutthroat. Kate will have trained with Hawkeye enough she has a realistic chance to survive.
I’d also find that hilarious as we’d be getting Black Widow and Hawkeye, Gen 2. On a more serious note, Kate and Yelena being friends also forms a connection between a potential Dark Avengers team with Yelena and a Young Avengers team with Kate. The MCU seems to be setting up multiple Avengers teams (I can see the seeds of at least 3, maybe 4). You’ll need those connections to sell that.
If this is the last time we see Clint Barton (and I seriously doubt that’s the case), then it’s a good send off. He’s closed off a lot of outstanding plot points related to him, helped set three amazing characters on their future path, and finally embraced his importance to the world around him. I’d like to see more, but if we don’t it’s ok.
Spoiler They should have had kept this in instead of the post-credit scene they had - not a fan of musical and I thought all the Rogers The Musical stuff was cringe (which is what it is supposed to be).
No same thing happened in the comics in the early 2000’s. Scene is lifted from the old Marvel Knights Daredevil run from before Joe Q became editor and chief and the character is still in comics but it played out the same way. If you don’t see a body there are always ways out of a scene like that.
Great finale. Comparatively speaking one of the weakest episodes of the show but still a worthy ending. Both Clint & Kate’s season long characters arcs wrapped up in satisfying ways. Spoiler Really nice to see D’Onofrio’s Fisk again. Definitely won’t be the last we see of him. Yelena & Kate’s instant chemistry & connection is really endearing & entertaining. Really loved Yelena’s confrontation with Clint. Clint knowing the secret whistle was an unexpected but profound way of resolving it. Jacques was really fun. Clint getting home in time for Christmas & bringing Kate and Lucky with him was the foreseeable ending but a definitive example of where the foreseeable ending is the right one. No other way this series should have ended. Clint burning the Ronin suit, his past sins, with Kate, his real legacy, was a fantastic closing scene.
Honestly, I feel like of the Marvel Disney+ shows this one was the most narratively consistent, such a great ending
Spoiler It's hard to say about Kingpin's abilities without any spotlight on him. The MCU might be taking more of the classic comic book take on Fisk where his appearance, strength and endurance are the result of a superhero comic-ish exaggerated take on Sumo Wrestler training, something that wasn't used or mentioned in the Netflix take. But we didn't get anything here to suggest if he had the same origin and background as the Daredevil show or something completely different. I'm sure he'll be back like you said and maybe we'll get some answers in the future.
