heard nothing of this retool of medix before from: Transformers Rescue Bots Academy Autobot Ratchet (F4445) | eBay
Yes. First I've seen of it. And I had really thought the Rescue Bots packaging had been retired, bit this is clearly new, as it even has that new green environmentally friendly logo at the bottom of the front packaging.
@griffin-of-oz @Black Convoy Is this new as well? I follow this line fairly closely and have never seen this. Saw this when I clicked on the eBay auction and saw "similar sponsored items". It looks like a brand-new Rescue Bots Academy mold with Heatwave as a jet: Transformers Rescue Bots Academy Heatwave the Fire Bot Action Figure | eBay It looks like these sellers are all located in the UK, that must be where these are coming out.
The rare occurence where the actual product is better than shown in the packaging/render. I guess Hasbro is doing that for child safety standard, but for Generations/SS Hasbro is a-OK to let us pop the wheels off and swallow them like candies whenever we feel hangry about the cost cutting hey?
@Black Convoy Now that I'm back home, here is a photo of the previous two uses of that ambulance mold (green one came out first in 2016 as the original Medix character, while the red one came out during RB Academy in 2019 as the new Medix character, with a new head to match). The Rescue Bots logo on the top of the ambulance mode is also slightly different between the two versions. This new Ratchet toy looks to be the same, being an identical body with just a new head like the other two. That Heatwave is also new... and a new mold too, as you can see in my photos above of the previous jet toys - they share the same engineering, but Heatwave is a completely different plane. (images here from that ebay listing, for others) I also wanted to mention that the product numbers on these two is also very interesting. Heatwave's number (F0927) suggests that it was originally planned to have been released around April 2021... but we got the four Classic Team minor redecos instead. Meanwhile, Ratchet's number (F4445) suggests that it was originally planned to come out right about now (Dec-Jan), which has me wondering why they started releasing Rescue Bots toys this year in packaging that didn't have Rescue Bots on it at all if they were still intending to release toys in Rescue Bots packaging. If we don't see any more Rescue Bots packaged toys after these, maybe these were just a small batch that made it out of the factory and just shipped off to Europe (as we have seen from time to time with some final waves of toylines over the years). .
Thanks for the info. Still baffles me Hasbro can't be bothered to advertise for their own product. I do have quite a number of Rescue Bots-- maybe about 3/4ths of them if you don't count the mini-racers; and it looked like a brand new toy to me.
I would\'ve probably expected this to be released the same time Ratchet made his appearance in the show, this is honestly surprising and makes me wonder if we\'re gonna get a toy of Laserbeak and Perceptor as toys since they appeared in the show
