Not sure it needed an led, as that may drive up the price. Otherwise, it looks great

Looks great overall, but I wish they went with something closer to the larger cockpit of the toy. The went smaller so they could do that standing thing for the power master that looks fairly stupid.

Also, for a the evil robot mode, I wish he had something closer to the toy head. At least in gray the head looks a tad silly

 

As a kid, my grandfather took me to TRU and said I could get whichever transformer I wanted and it came down to a Devastator box set or Doubledealer and the power masters swayed me that day. My love for the old toy is strong and I wanted a MP version for so long, but this just doesn’t have anything that calls back to the toy for me. The head isn’t toy at all (I thought they might have an option part at least), the cockpit in vehicle mode is basically gone. I hoped it would grab me more and it just doesn’t. Oh well.

 

If I had one criticism, it's that the figure isn't finished and in my collection yet. Get on it, Fanshobby.

 

Someone has already posted to them on Facebook about a toy head (though more people saying it wouldn't hurt). I haven't seen anything about the cockpit on there though.

 

I wonder if they'll do a Masterforce accurate Doubleclouder deco first, then release a US toy accurate Doubledealer version later with a toy accurate head?
I'd buy both.

 

I don't think the power master cockpit made the cab smaller, I think that was moreso to slim down the leg's profile in robot mode and not have some giant tumor on his calf, which is somewhat anime accurate. It moves anyway so the size wouldn't necessarily impact that gimmick

 

Only wish this had a better headsculpt, that's the only thing the official has going on this.

 

Yeah, the bird and truck look good but I’m not sure about the robot modes. I’m gonna wait for more pics.

 

I've never really been into Double Dealer, but I am liking what I'm seeing here.

 

Some really weird engineering decisions made with this toy design. Looks super cool but also looks like it could have some severe problems if its not perfectly well made. The wings seem needlessly over hinged, why are they so complex.

 

I don’t know about the robot mode, but vehicle mode has a much larger cockpit in both the commercial & Lifeform Transformers.


And while I understand cleaning up the legs in robot mode, I wish they’d come up with a way that didn’t sacrifice vehicle mode. Speaking personally, I wouldn’t even mind the extra kibble in bot mode if there wasn’t any option.

 

So the wings look like they're naturally flapping.

He only has 1 more hinge than the MP Swoops.

 

Ah now I think I can see where they got the design idea for the head from.

 

Idk about this guy, robot mode seems odd, wings looks too complicated lol, and I’m kinda ok with the hasbro release after getting some leg extensions, but I hope this release will prove me wrong Bc I do like the design

also I do hate that cockpit and the head, maybe Bc in that second robot mode it caused sacrificing in the main one?

 

He could definitely use the earmuffs and cockpit leg bulge to give him more character
