It'd be a crime if Blitzwing didn't come with a football coach minifigure

So if Elita- is a new mold that will be interesting, especially if it leads to a rumored Walgreens Minerva like mentioned above.

Having CW Elita-1 and the Seige/Kindom Arcee repaint with a new head (Have Paradron Medic too), along with the limbs for the Elita-1 combiner (Missing Greenlight), T30 Wingblafe, T30 Arcee, and T30 Chromia will eventually provide a wider variety of Female Transformers designs, along with the Thunderblast repaints Botcon Elita-1, and the Galaxy Force DVD pack in Galaxy Force repaint with the Minerva deco.

It's not just the accessories that make them a Leader though. It's the engineering. That's why I once again point to his heft in hand, even without the accessories.

The accessories are there because the figure alone would be too costly for the previous price point. So they either can't release him as is or they bump it up with additional accessories to bring up the value.

People wanted scaled robots, which means they can't make him shorter to fit Voyager or taller to fill out Leader...

Then if they had to bump him up to Leader anyway, why not put a little more time and plastic into his engineering to make him great instead of just decent, rather than putting it into junk lots of us will just throw in the parts bin never to be seen again?

Because people are already hung up enough about the smaller figures going in to the higher price points. You think they'd care if his rear shuttle was slightly more enclosed but then he had one less gun?

Look at the complaints about Hot Rod and Rodimus. Add Astrotrain to that pile.

You know who *doesn't* put those in bins? The kids who play with them.

You know who's rather have those guns than some extra flaps in shuttle mode? The kids who play with them.

You know who's going to notice a lack of accessories in a large mostly empty box and won't give a shit about "accuracy?" The kids who play with them and the parents deciding which toys to buy them.

I think the reason we're seeing so many Magnus on shelves is because his primary use of materials goes in to an armor mode. That's not as appealing to kids as all the weapons and parents probably think younger kids will get frustrated trying to get the armor mode up and running.

So he sits on shelves while Megatron and Galvatron (who are much more straightforward on the box sell through).

For every complaint about Hot Rod there's another three comments singing its praises and wishing for more figures like that, because he's so damn well done. Rodimus has overall been quite well-received too after the initial shock from the leaks/first reveal, although not as enthusiastic because as a Commander the price is just a lot higher.

You really think people would rather he look badly unfinished in both vehicle mods but come with a bunch of made up accessories and an ugly purple box that never existed in the original toy, cartoon, comics, or any other place he appeared before than he be a highly polished figure with three great modes and one or two weapons based directly on his previous appearances?

Same with Astrotrain. The thing is the complaints just keep repeating themselves and the people who like it get bored of the bitching and move on to other threads.

...until it gets brought up again in those.

God the hyperbole. This is what happens when people who hate something keep drowning out/driving out other voices in threads. They tailspin in to "EVERYTHING IS THE WORST!"

I'm curious as Hell about the Armada Starscream. I don't really know Armada, but I like the design of the characters. Is this going to be a whole new seeker mold and tooling? Or just a re-paint, re-kibbled ER mold?

It also had this gem from Blitzwing when he was threatening the football coach: “Tell me what’s on your mind or I’ll splatter it on the wall and see for myself!”

New mold based on his Armada/UT non-G1 design, possibly as a (p)retool from another character (best guess is it's (p)retool from the Starscream in the upcoming Rise game).

Apparently it's some sort of retool from the Transformers Rise videogame subline Starscream, although last I saw the game is in some sort of dev hell so who knows at this point

Again, if he'd been a Voyager it would've been much more excusable. But pardon me for wanting a modern-day Voyager-sized Leader-class figure to pull off at least one of its two vehicle modes at least as well as the tiny original G1 toy.

Any link to what form that would be? Because this Starscream, while different from G1, doesn't seem to scream out needing new tooling to me. (Insofar as the Siege/Legacy designs are re-interpretations of the characters, anyway.) You could channel that character with changing the deco and some minor pieces, while keeping the main mold.

I say that because if it is a new mold, we can expect the usual cavalcade of Seeker repaints. (Or that Hasbro would intend to cash in on such.) Which, c'mon, as collectors we always put our feet up and cross our arms and say "alright, Takara, you have 30 seconds to 'wow' me." And thousands and thousands of posts discussing them on these forums to come.

No pictures exist of the upcoming videogame Starscream design, but we have been told by the leaker that it's vehicle mode resembles a F-22 jet with lots of detail.

To be fair though; isn't the solution here for the people who like it to just... not respond to those voicing their complaints? Like, no one is forcing them to respond to every person who says they have an issue with it, and they can still like it because you're allowed to like whatever. I don't think people are drowning out / driving out anyone, and if they are it sounds like they were looking for an echo chamber...? If one person voicing a negative opinion is enough to throw a thread into a tailspin, that's usually not an issue with the one person (as long as they're not breaking the rules of course).

Just don't respond to people who you think are being needlessly negative, instead of getting into long, protracted discussions with them?

The mystery of frikkin' Energon monster resumes.

86' Ratchet being core-sized is.. interesting, but then again that's the same treatment BB Shockwave got. Enjoy your new mini-con size, doc.

What's core DOTM Laserbeak gonna turn into folks? Place your bets.
