Spoiler Yes he's a Rabbi, with a Jewish wife and kids. Kyle is convinced that this is a long term plot by Cartman to screw with him. (knowing this show it will be) At first you think Stan has a wife, but it's actually a Holographic Amazon Alexa who is constantly berating Stan for his drinking. The plot focuses around Kenny's death. Kenny was a Scientific genius and a Steve Jobs type trying to figure out the origins of Covid which has ruined all their lives. Which of Course led him to Tegrity farms. So Stan goes to see his dad and you find out Stan's mother and Sister died......who is responsible for that is up for debate. Meanwhile the rest of the group is stuck in South Park due to a Covid outbreak and because apparently one person who refuses to be vaccinated. They find out who, an an ongoing plot is trying to get them to vaccinate so they can all leave. Lots of jokes about current society and how much the trends will lead to a sucky future. Jimmy is made a Jimmy Kimmel type character and is the master of Woke humor(Which sucks) As I said this is just part one and it ends on a cliffhanger
Watched this. Pretty good with some unexpected stuff going on. Spoiler Viktor Chaos is obviously Butters, but I didn't catch that due to them pronouncing Chaos like a foreign name until you see how it's spelled at the end. Also, who else thinks Cartman actually turned over a new leaf? Like... at first I was with Kyle thinking that this was just Cartman playing the long game... I mean he did that whole hand thing the one time and played it out just to get Kyle "kind of". However, the longer it went on I started to think that he might have been telling the truth... especially since he doesn't want to help them in the end. Though that could still be him playing the long game to get Kyle. Though I feel if it's revealed he's playing a long game "to get" Kyle it wouldn't be that big of a twist BUT if it's revealed he's legit changed that would be pretty interesting because he'd be the only one of the group with something to lose if they changed the past. If Cartman actually changed it would be an interesting contrast too since that would mean that the two characters everyone expected to have shitty adult lives (Eric and Kenny) ended up with great lives while Kyle and Stan ended up as shitty adults with no prospects. Guess we'll have to wait for the next "Made For TV Movie Event Special".
Spoiler In a way, I hope Cartman is genuinely changed as an adult and truly converted to Judaism. It has been commonly remarked in comment sections that making a decades long plan to get at Kyle is "classic" Cartman, which is true in that, yeah, the Cartman we know is the deranged kid who would do such a thing. However, as shown in Stan, Kyle, and Kenny, the kids grew up and changed. It would make sense for Cartman to have also changed. Stan and Kyle were sort of the All American kids whose lives didn't turn out how they hoped. Out of the four, they were the ones who were supposed to make it. They had your archetypal "good family" foundation. Kenny was the poor kid who didn't seem to excel at anything in particular but ended up being an undiagnosed/unrecognized genius, flourishing in adulthood. Cartman, in turn, was the problem child of a single parent. He is everything that you don't want in a kid. Seemingly, he turned a leaf and grew up to be a better person than he was in childhood. It would be a funny bit for Cartman creating a longterm plan to get at Kyle but it would be too obvious and Matt and Trey are normally more clever and subversive in their show writing and plotting. Some have said that the ultimate dig at Kyle would to be for Cartman to have created an idyllic life as an adult when Kyle's life as an adult turned out less than desirable, especially if Cartman is genuinely changed for the better.
Well considering the ending, I now kind of feel bad for Cartman. He kind of really got screwed over after they fixed the future. Also don't buy NFTs (You'll get the joke after you see the episode)
Caught Post Covid part 2; enjoyed it. Loved seeing the future and how much it sucked (and how scarily accurate it's becoming). I stopped having sympathy for Cartman a long time ago. Maybe the dumb, slightly racist Cartman from the first few seasons but not the psychopathic, sociopathic little demon child he evolved into. Oh and it was finally good to see Spoiler Timmy.
I just watched Post Covid part 2 and agree. Yeah, NFTs are the worst. Spoiler I'm glad to see that the alternate future Cartman wasn't an elaborate ruse. It would be low hanging fruit to simply have the character do an obvious "Hah, got you, Kyle!" sort of thing. It's true that he went back to the Dark Side momentarily but it was understandable. I imagine a lot of people would lose sight of their moral compass to a degree in their pursuit to save their loved ones. At least he was pulled back in the end by his family. It was sad to see Cartman so messed up in the "corrected" timeline but here's the thing: He's a terrible person. If he didn't have something to make him go off the path he is going on in the "prime" South Park timeline, the homeless, angry and bitter Cartman we see at the end of part 2 is the inevitable fate of the character. He's spiteful, greedy, selfish, self centered, and only is able to do well when surrounded by others to leech off of. When Stan, Kyle, and Kenny don't part due to the rift in their friendship being mended, they go on to do what they should in adulthood. They leave childish things behind eventually. Cartman, apparently, doesn't. Without something to push Cartman to change his ways as an adolescent (the dissolution of his friend group), he never grows up and ends up being what we see at the end of part 2. It's sad that in order for Cartman to be a good person and have a good life, other people have to forfeit a good life themselves.
Spoiler: Season 25 premiere synopsis So the season 25 premiere synopsis has been revealed and it involves PC Principal banning Pajama Day for the 4th Grade class
Ah the best kind of south park episode one that takes a minor kid's issue and keep escalating it till it's well past the point of absurdity while also making a jab at current societal trends
Laughing my ass off at the "Fortune favors the bold" ad mocking. I HATE all these gambling ads. So nice to see it get mocked
