Not just that one, I got like 5 preorder e-mails today for various Beastboxes, from some older ones they missed last time like Darknet to newer ones like Ricochet. (The newest one I got is for Nightcrawler, so anything newer than him isn't coming in this shipment.)

Random do-nothing gear details? How very steampunk. Random preorder-exclusive trinket means this is very likely to be the January VIP club release. I do kind of wish 52Toys wasn't jumping on the "limited/exclusive" bandwagon so hard, but between the club and BBTS getting their own allocation, at least the people that want them are able to get them without too much hassle or price mark-up.

Probably also means the end of the paraweapons, as apparently they had been filling this same role, just with less fanfare.

I see one other eBay seller with them too.

As for its listing on the 52Toys Tmall, apparently it wasn't 300 total available, it was 300 each per individual sales drops at 10am China time three days in a row. I didn't quite catch them in real time, but the stock was always totally gone when I checked just 5-10 minutes past the appointed time.

So, I think we know how this goes. It's probably next to impossible for a human being at a keyboard (including the folks at Taobao proxy buyers) to have purchased one of these things. At least we have 6hk to fall back on, who magically has quite a few available. I mean, it's not like I'm not used to paying secondary market prices for convention exclusive and other limited quantity sale items. I can't quite decide if these exclusive scalpers are bottom-feeding scum, or providing a valuable service, LOL.

I only received the one notice. Though I do have Chang e’, jawbreaker on order as well.
Thanks to 52toys they must been pushin hard to get these out. I wonder if some of the earlier releases are reissues.

Rustypiece looks interesting. I'm in for the mold, but I wait to see what other colors come out.
I got emails from BBTS that Unus and Firmhand are incoming. No email about Jawbreaker. He better be in this load. I'm still not sure how BBTS got Thrashard but not Jawbreaker a month or so ago.

Yeah, everyone has their threshold between being an enthusiastic collector and the point where they feel like they’re being taken advantage of. And honestly paying $90 for a 2” cube is just shy of insanity, but I reallyreallyreally want that Blacklight Tukuru. So if there’s a straight jacket involved at some point… bring it.

This is pure speculation on my part, so for what it’s worth: the way I look at the exclusives issue is, 52Toys is a small, very young company. Toy manufacturing is an extremely competitive market and they don’t appear to be set up for international distribution so I have to imagine that by the time figures make it to markets outside of China, they really are only able to turn a profit on wholesale. (and it sounds like they have to come up with a new sales agreement with each distributor, every time they have new product.) Pile on top of that the multiple manufacturing and shipping challenges due to COVID over the past couple of years, on top of a large line, many figures still being readily available even after a few years, and they’re seriously spreading themselves thin. So in order to stand out as well as stay afloat, they 1) have to find different ways to turn a buck such as VIP memberships, and 2) make a stink with “plussed-out” character designs to keep people interested.

Which of course is extremely frustrating if you’re a completionist or have your heart set on a particular figure, and you can’t get it without selling your firstborn. Ultimately, I’m trying to take the long view on how things are proceeding with the line(s). I have my list of figures I want, and for me there’s a threshold between desirability and what I’m willing to pay. Even if I can’t get certain ones I’m interested in, at the end of the day I still have a lot of charming little cubes that I really enjoy fiddling around with and glad I was able to get some of these things on the shelf. That’s just my point of view.

Still holding out hope for a “Racing Team” Tukuru. :)

Maybe the listing has been updated since you shared it but it says it's in stock now, "sent out in 48-72 hours." I usually receive orders from this seller within a couple weeks so we should have this in-hand right after the new year.

Between White Noise and this version of Tukuru, 52toys is ending the year on an extremely classy note.

Can’t disagree. For me, I didn’t want to wait and see if it ever makes it to western retail and risk missing out.
You might be in a better region in relation to Beijing than me… I live in the Midwest and it still says “ships in 10 days”. He usually gets packages here in about 2.5-3 weeks though; so yeah, pretty damn quick.

100% agree about ending the year on a classy note. I’d add to that Gunpowder and Santa.

Could be, as the first set had a Megadeth reference. Also curious why it’s not a new product number when there is a remold. Unless BB-34 = Primatus?
