Rewind is the black and white one on the right in those pictures, Eject is the blue and white one that's being created from the mini mech-looking thing. Great start btw! It looks great so far.
Sorry for the lack of explanation guys was late last night when I finished but wanted to get some pics up of progress, basically I didn't realise how well kfc size cassettes worked better for me with legends + Blaster until it was too late to get an Eject, these days its hard to track them down. I was always going to make both Rewind and Eject from those spare mech suits you get with mft figures but after recently acquiring kfc Blaster who came with Rewind I thought I could use him to model Eject off of and use one of his spare heads. He won't be exactly the same when he's finished but that's fine by me as I like my bots to have a bit more identity between them instead of just looking like repaints. He won't be transformering but I don't need him too as it's not like he's going to fit into mft Blaster, my titans return Eject and Rewind will now go with kfc Blaster for display until mmc releases there's (personally I'm really excited about there upcoming Steeljaw) Thanks for the interest Oh and apologies for the camera it looks like there in the middle of an idw orbital bounce !
Stop... Just stop with the sarcastic comments. It's stupid and unnecessary. You could've just admitted you made a mistake. But you always feel the obligation to make a joke. Stop. Say something helpful, or nothing at all.
something nice or nothing at all. there ya go, I done it. all joking aside, I thought this thread was talking about the rewind when I first saw it, but the eject looks to be quite interesting
A little update on the putty work I did last night pretty much ready for painting, might go for a sky blue this time what do you think?
Went with a slightly darkened sky blue this time and was going to use a really light silver for the other bits bur decided will use a really light grey for upper legs, head and forearms instead
Had you considered using Pla-plate over your design to give him more definition? Plastic plates used with gundams to create parts when building (FY in not known).
Had a little look into Pla-plate so it's similar to styrene but a lot thinner and easier to cut? I used styrene to make his lower legs, do you use the same crafting methods then?
Pla-plate comes in various thickness and can be cut with anything. I would have used the other cassette bot as a template. Take paper like you did for the legs to get the shape. place over the material you already used, shaving the pla-plate to the desired shape. Then use Pla-plate to duplicate his chest details. Pla=plate can be heated and bent to shape. For the model I'm building I'm using Pla-plate to craft chest armor parts. Some will need to curve so I've a heat gun. Youtube some vids on pla-plate and gundams and you'll get a good idea how you could use it for your TF.
Cool thanks, I did check some videos on YouTube to get an idea the guy there used masking tape to drawable desired shape then took it off his model and stuck it to the pla-plate to get the perfect shape. Pretty ingenious really, I just use a ruler pendant craft knife to cut and measure for the legs holding it up against the other bot. It's looks pretty dam versatile I'll definitely pick some up for my next model.
