i don't think the truck bed is any lower on OP than on UM OP and if anything it's about the same. both sit roughly below the bottom of the smoke stacks. but OP bed truck is significantly longer with the bot feet hanging behind the rear tire.

 

If anything I want a larger diaper.

Also, how insane is it that our comparisons for this Prime are a $350 Masterpiece? Let’s just be extremely excited for an amazing tiny little Optimus.

 

I received the e-mail from ShowZ and completed my payment. I wanted to get only Magic Square's V2 take at OP at first but I want to try this one too. Maybe I'll end up liking it! Can't wait now

I feel like this is worth reposting here (originally in the Zeta Legends Superion thread).

As for me, I've said it before but if this had come out 3 years ago, or if MS didn't already have 1 quite awesome Prime with an even better one on the horizon, I'd have been all over this.

 

yeah that is basically how i feel about all this. especially whenever people talk like this is the second coming of robo-christ.

i am glad folks like this but it isn't for me and feels like another rush to go against MS prime. NA could do worlds better in my opinion.

 

Those chest hinges really hurt his look. Hopefully they look better in person, on the second (maybe?) release that has transparent chest windows. They can keep their opaque chest window version.

 

They said on FB that there's been no change to the red since the earlier pics.  

And as for MST Optimus, I do think it's got a good design and it'll turn out cool, but then I think about how much I don't like the feel and look of the plastic they use and I'm glad I like NA's version so much.

I'm in the same boat, I have every single MS autobot, but I just don't enjoy them as much as NA's stuff.. partly for the material and finish, but also.. and I know this is controversial... I like seeing the playful engineering on display (hinges, folding lines etc), as long as they're softly beveled and rounded etc. I can only think it's because it still looks like a toy, rather than a the more no-kibble no nonsense approach MS has, and for me the TF cartoon was.. ok, for it's time.. but the toys are where it was and always will be at. Oh, and the better alt modes.. even with the slightly bulky cab wheel area, NA's cab mode looks more like a real truck than MS's 2.0. Which I think is funny since MS Op 1.0 had a very real truck mode (basically MP-10, I bet they had scanned it in, given the simple look of all the other vehicles they had done to that point.)

 

This is a bittersweet release for me. I’ve been anticipating a true “mini-MP” Optimus for years, but it’s also my final pre-order before I move to Germany in February so it’s kind of a double milestone.

 

The Optimus Sketch looks like MP-44 in proportions. Not as squat and the diaper so smaller.

 

Same for Bombusbee!

 

I figured that of all companies New Age would be the ones to figure out a clever way to get the back of an optimus truck bed to look good, especially since they went through all the effort to remold the legs.

But nope the feet are just there poking out lol my hope was completely misplaced.

 

Waiting for actual in hand confirmation cuz I want him.

 

All of this toy's glaring problems considered, I'm still in disbelief we have not one, but two legends scale Optimus Primes that look THIS close to mp-44. Maybe I'm just easily impressed but I'm very excited to see both Newage and Magic Square's attempts.

 

It really is amazing. I've bought both NA U Magnus and D Magnus and I display Delta in his core Optimus mode and I think he looks great. Optimus when he comes in (as well as MS 2.0) I've no doubt will look good as well. We're really getting spoiled here.
