Always wondered what happened with Ravage that he was granted amnesty? Did his cassette buddies get the same treatment? Or even Soundwave?

That lifeless corpse on Cybertron in Nightscreams flash back was a retired/downgraded soundwave?

Would have been cool to see a reformatted Laserbeak that looks similar to TM Airazor or Terrorsaur.

Probably as simple as renouncing his Decepticon status. Or his covert skills were valuable enough to allow him to continue operating for the "right" people.

Unlikely, given how many "Soundwaves" were on Cybertron. It was just a model reuse.

    Funny you mention that:

You could have a read of TransWarp: Ravage

    01_00FAA.jpg

It's my take on what could have happened. It's part of the larger TransWarp story, telling how the Great War ended.

He sold out the Decepticons who wouldn't get with the program and got a sweetheart deal with the Autobots.

I always assumed it was a mix of this and minibot bigotry on the Autbot side. "Oh, he wasn't REALLY a decepticon! He was just a beast that did what Soundwave commanded! A pet!"

Was there ever any indication of minibot bigotry, though? The Decepticons bullied the little guys like Frumble, but the Autobots always seemed to treat the minis as equals.

Bigotry not as in hatred but assuming that an animalistic minibot was just a pet? I could see it

If they considered Ravage “just a pet”, why would they let him go humanoid as part of his upgrade, though?

You answered your own question, humanoid modes are an upgrade compared to remaining a simple beast. A beast that transforms into a tape can't be taken seriously, but a humanoid robot that turns into a tape is a step in the right direction (though obviously not as much as giving him an actual vehicle mode).

That's honestly a story worth exploring in the future. Especially with the big BW push nowadays.

But he’s still beast-like as a Pred. I don’t really see where being a biped jaguar/humanoid with a cat head rather than a quadruped is that significant a difference. Especially given how loquacious Ravage was in some G1 media. I mean, he posed a logical argument that snapped Shockwave out of a depression in Marvel UK! He’s never been portrayed as “just a cat.”

Not to mention Sky Lynx has a non-humanoid robot mode, but is respected.

The only place I can think of where non-humanoids are really considered inferior is IDW (which is one of the many reasons I don’t like it.)

Ravage still has the cat head so that he'll always remember what he came from and not get too full of himself. Bipeds are naturally superior to quadrupeds because bipeds usually have opposable thumbs.

Skylynx is tolerated, there's a difference. And even then, he's just a glorified taxi. No one would consider putting that thing in a position of leadership.

Do you have sources for any of this? I’d be interested in seeing where this comes from, unless it’s IDW. Thus far it sounds like a lot of the negative stuff from IDW backported to G1.

Look, this is all assuming Beast Wars Ravage is the Sunbow version. It's pretty clear he's not. He's probably the comics guy:

    I don’t find this likely
and I find this even less likely
    Head canon?
Because I really no of nothing connected to G1 or beast wars proper that supports this kind of thinking
Sorry but now I really think you’re talking head canon

    Tolerated?
Skylynx held the rank of Lieutenant Commander…..Command hierarchy would put him right underneath Ultra Magnus

You don’t reach deposition by simply being tolerated

Well, the G1 references drew from both Sunbow and Marvel. Beast Wars’ G1 is basically Schroedinger’s G1.

This falls firmly into the territory of headcanon, but I always assumed the formation of the Beast Era Predacons was simply the result of time taking its toll. Decepticons splintering into increasingly ineffectual sub-factions, all still trying to carry on "the good fight" to their own ends, unable to accept the war was long over. The early Predacons (which likely would've been... you know, the OG Predacons, plus other late G1 beastformers like the Terrorcons and Seacons, as well as some Pretenders, Micromasters and G2 stragglers) were able to see the writing on the wall and opted to surrender as a means of survival... as well as biding their time to the point where they could rise again and strike back when the Autobots and their descendants least expected it. Ravage would've been smart enough to join up with that coalition and wait it out.

...Sky Lynx is literally a Lieutenant commander, my dude. He has a rank of 9, he's fully in a position to give orders.

God I want those toys so bad. I know they're an incredibly limited set, but let me dream.
