Is anyone doing a yellow chest cover? Really dislike the chrome. Also, is there a paint match for the yellow on the legs?

Hey has anyone figured this part out at 7:12?

It feels like I dont have enough clearance for the slots to fit over the tabs.

 

I got this guy this week and was severely underwhelmed, then put on the shoulder and knee pieces and it makes a world of difference.

 

Ugh, my order from showz seems to be stuck...the old in me wants to just order another from US based and hope that the showz order just turns up (never not received an order from them, but this release has been super stressful.).

 

Mine was delivered yesterday! 16 days to get from ShowZ to the west coast of Canada; not bad at all, especially considering deliveries are backlogged after the worst province-wide flooding we've ever had (highways shut down or literally washed away in some places).

Busy weekend, so haven't even had a chance to open him yet, but good early Christmas present to have waiting for me!!

I wonder if @transformer_78 you would consider to you send the pictures of your hard work to fans toys to include as an upgrade replacement piece for rp-01 with their possible future release of soundblaster? He looks much more intimidating when he can look down, although that may be in part the filter too. Maybe ft can pay you for your design and make changes to suit their product if required.

Exactly this.

This guy arrived the same day as MP Skids and while I love that figure for fitting in so perfectly with the early MP carbots, RP-01 just left me cold. Like, he looked OK but the matt paint doesn't really make him pop and the improvements he makes over MP-13 are fairly, well, like you say, underwhelming.

Usually with the more toon-looking bots (official and otherwise) there's enough visual interest that still exists because of alt-mode kibble, transformation seams and, something TT manage to do with great aplomb, CHARACTER to these figures but here I wasn't getting much of that at all. Also the knee gaps are hideous and stand out worse than the MP-13 thigh joint imho as soon as you bend the knees.

Now with *some* (I've left the lower shins and the toon head) of the toy-accurate parts attached suddenly I can appreciate the differences more. The shoulders and knees add some interest while the lower leg side covers add some extra weight to the legs which I don't think you'd even consider until the pieces are attached and then it's a "OH, THAT'S WHAT WAS NEEDED!" moment. The metallic red knee pieces also manage to break the legs up enough that the gap no longer bothers me.

I was honestly going to sell this and keep MP-13 before I made these switches... Now I'm not so sure but I can say that PR-01 will be hanging round for a lot longer now while I consider my options.

 

I hope alternate pieces become the norm with FT, at least with the bigger bots.

It certainly seems to be the USP of the "alternate" brands... Perfect Fusion came with loads of Toy/Toon options as well!

What part do you mean? Locking the flat section to the bit between his legs?

 

Yeah, I was amazed at how big the swing was from “eh” to “this is cool” with just the two changes I made. Haven’t really experienced that before with such a small scale of changes on a figure. I guess we should thank FT for the options.

And it fits perfectly into my philosophy that the best MP is a good mix of toon and toy. I hope this trend continues and comes back around, even if it’s just via part swapping options.

 

Not to mention that you can transform this guy without having to take the parts off?
