Of course, it’s nothing unexpected. I understand the disappointment many have had but I wouldn’t have the time to nolife the game anyway these days.

I’ve been debating the idea of playing FF in during work hours, working in the evening when the queues are higher.

But I think we all know how that will play out.

It all makes sense, sorta, except Breakdown  . I don't mind them tinkering around the edges but that just sounds like 'We need the mold again later, sooooh...'

 

It was on at least one figure in each size class on each wave in CW. Magnus had plenty.

Welp. Someone in the office has covid so HR has gone into panic mode. I took one of those at home pcr flow test thingies on Friday morning anyway and was negative so I should be ok, as I didn't have any contact. But there was one guy who was in the same room and then went to a bunch of other people in the office.

 

Once I'm in, I stay in until I absoluty have to go at the moment. I'm absolutely loving EW so far, even if I am currently tunning around the first getting hunt marks/pixie quests to level reaper at the moment....

 

None of that makes much sense to me, unless Hasbro really are just leaning into "well if we do it like THIS it gives us THAT repaint..." territory, and are unconcerned about the screaming and wailing that'll be the soundtrack to price drops on yet another Commander release as it pleases nobody.

I'll wait and see.

 

It seems especially dumb when folks obviously badly wanted a G1 Menasor, and were willing to pay well over the odds these last few years.

 

Give us Knock-Out and Breakdown as OPTIONS for Menasor and who can complain? Hasbro can have their cake and eat it by also giving us G1 Breakdown and Off-Road.

I suppose, if anything, I'll let this feed my ridiculous cognitive bias and assure myself that a TFP Breakdown would redeco really well as Scorch from the Turbomasters and that we will indeed get a Turbomaster giftset where Thunderclash and the lads all combine to form Hyperdrive. I may even come up with further flimsy rationale to help me dispel any sensible argument that I might be talking out my arse. I call this move a TFW2005.

I take full credit for buying this, taking pics and sending them to @incapable hulk (and then sending him a second one I bought) who then made far better use of it than I ever could.

Oddly I found that the garage set doesn't really scale very well with Matchbox cars - seems to be slightly oversized - and I found it perfectly scaled with Cliffy and Bumbums. And yet the fire station (which I also bought) is much better suited to Matchbox / Hot Wheels and is therefore out of scale with the garage set THAT IT ATTACHES TO AND IS FROM THE SAME LINE. Go figure.

 

I smell TakaraTomy Gen Selects Boxset. Get another use out of the molds. Still praying for Turbomaster Combiner.

 

The newest Most-G1 Menasor is actually going to be Multiversal?! I don't get the "RID 15 reference" isn't that the IDW Superion/Prowlstator face off? Ah, wait RID 2015 means the 'toon, of course!

If he gets the same G1-ifying flter pass as Legacy Arcee it'll likely be some apps and a less box-recessed head?
Though I may have to stoke @barry's theory, the angles and profiles of that RID chest would seem a pretty easy swap out for a Thunderclash faux cab roof chest - especially an IDW-ish one!

I'm just gonna assume that Hasbro will (barring any massive overhaul of the line & staff such as Post-RID-into-Armada kerfuffle) eventually give us a G1 Breakdown, as well as an Off-Road, option at some point, though I'm still on the fence as to whether I'll replace CW Menasor with the Nu Legacy 'con car crew.

 

Well this is a really solid figure, no idea how I didn’t open it when I bought it almost a decade ago….

If RID Breakdown was this snug and had joints thus tight I’d probably like that figure more, nice colours, good details, and think he fits pretty well with the other Beasts. Has a real Wolverine vibe on the Beast Mode head, and overall I’m pretty damn impressed.

I'll most likely pass, I've already got the anniversary release of the Takara TFP Breakdown twice over due to collecting Air Vehicons, and if they handle this the same as their so-called Prime Bulkhead in Legacy I'm not optimistic it'll look much like him.
Heck, I'm not sure I'd have such an issue with Legacy Bulkhead if they didn't claim it's meant to be the TFP character in any way, shape, or form. Like to me a G1ified Prime Bulkhead would be a bulky off-road jeep type vehicle, probably more squared off sure, but not a canvas covered army truck.

I really need to get my hands on him someday.
