this is just bad for Hasbro. The fact that these even made it off the floor is just terrible. And as good as your fix is, most people wont put i that much time to fix it. Hopefully someone makes a 3d printed head and puts it on thingaverse. still, your fix looks good.
Love your idea, but it's too much for folk with no skill (like myself) If a 3P head comes out that fits the bill, I'll be all over it.
Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't realize everyone was suppose to endlessly praise people here regardless of the end result. Anyway, the low quality comment was completely about 3D printing not being on par with professional grade plastic.
Oh okay. Maybe its just me but I find it rude to post low quality comments when its not constructive criticism.
He was talking about 3d printed heads, which I agree would be equally bad in most cases. I also did make the head a smidge worse in places. I don't typically do fine work. The fix took less than an hour though
seeing what you did gave me an idea i may make a mold of the head and cast it and mod it till i get it right so i dont risk the chance of messing it up and thus destroying my copy . knowing my luck if i dont do it that way i will manage to mess it up lol . what you did made it look better than it did . the unfixed head is a bit of a train wreck i will agree. how they made it out the door baffles me.
Ok, I'll give it a try: Stop complaining about what people say, it makes you sound whiny. I gotta say, that felt much better.
it's totally different when you do it to someone else, lol. ANYWAY I appreciate the effort by the OP, sort of wish we had more "in progress" photos of what exactly all was done to get the final result but oh well. It's still an improvement over the completely unacceptable product as released.
I wonder if the model kit Putty (or "Crazy Glue+baby powder mix"), and some sanding can do the trick with far less effort.
Definitely not, the halves are very uneven. What you're suggesting is about the same level of effort and skill involved. The absolute lowest effort fix would be to get thin styrene, glue it over the wedge forehead and top of the head, trim it with a hobby knife, and paint it silver and black. Probably would be a 30 minute fix... Kind of wish I did that... Someone send me yours and I'll fix it that way for a vid.
