Same team/manufacturer, but different member of the team----leg vs torso, that have very similar bullet-train alt modes. See first post of thread. Green stripe vs blue, basically.

Zeta did that artwork for Devy and Menasor under Toyworld but I have not seen or noticed it later. I didn't want to get into long detail with the post but you had mentioned dummy companies and problems with Zeta so I threw that out there with them probably being frustrated with the interference going back to Toyworld and that is why I mentioned Road Caesar, Liokaiser, and Landcross as good next targets for them that will likely not cause any problems. Also, I think Zeta's styling is more geared toward vehicles and less so towards beasts like Piranacon and Dinoking. Ultimately, they may be the only company that would consider doing those.

A lot of this also stems from what is going on in the combiner market. Currently, XTB is covering Defensor and FT has promised to do ALL of the combiners. I believe from dalianjj this promise covers Devy through Predaking from the toon. Zeta already covered that entire territory and there is no competition for them later on which is why I think they went after Raiden. If they plow on through now I think they can finish all of them. On the side it looks like they want to do more Bayverse stuff. Outside of combiners, I don't think they plan to stay in G1 MP long term. Teams of whatever kind have always driven this game: carbots, tapes, insecticons, dinobots, combiners, leaders, monsterbots, headmasters/targetmasters, seekers, citybots, omnibots, triplechangers, minibots, etc.

These bots are big, like, much bigger than I was anticipating.

Of note, the ankles and lower leg/feet designs leave a bit to be desired, but they have me intrigued.

    Yea...

We are all preparing our jokes about Raiden not being able to stand after having its pelvis hole plugged with an Iron Arm.

Raiden's knees seem to have their own ratcheted joints so no worry. Ankles instead are the ones that worry me a lot. I had NKB's ko of Gravity Builder and it was a pain to pose, I hope I won't have to do it again

I am not sure why this is new information, I thought it was obvious from day one that because the team consists of six members, and they all have a boxy build, it's easier to turn two of them into the torso with upper legs. The Raiden prototype photo's were also a good indication.

Personally I think the stability will be fine. Raiden has a lot more to work with when compared to Bruticus or Superion.

I also thought it was fairly obvious from the initial combiner pictures, so I'm a little surprised that some are only noticing it now.

As for stability, you can see in the bot-mode photos for the pelvis-bot that his legs contain separate combiner-mode joints. I'm not sure exactly how the pelvis will transform but I am willing to assume Moon Studios, with their previous experience of tolerancing the pants piece of 20 inch combiners, will figure out how to make those joints stable. But, we'll find out next year I guess.

I am curious as to whether there will be separate hands and head that need to be attached. If not, then the combiner could be classified as "all in one", which would be extra impressive. I don't *think* that's the case though.

The head is built into one of the torso bots, the fists are separate.

Zeta was going to do a Predaking - they showed combined mode pics around the same time as they announced Raiden (before going quiet on both and then Moon Studios announcing Raiden). I'd like to hear a bit more about that project, because it was very G1-styled (unlike Cang Toys' offering that was announced shortly afterwards) and there was debate as to whether it would use pants or not.
Not sure there would be much market for them to do Menasor at this stage, but I'd love them to tackle Computron as there's no 20 inch version that's been announced.

There are still some fake parts. The combiner hands and front chest plate are parts forming pieces I believe. And the weapons for the combiner may look silly with the individual bots, but that's normal I think.

Ahh, thanks. Sounds like it will be *so close* to being all-in-one.
Not that I care about that, but it seems to be a thing for some people.

And for all the bellyaching that can be heard from the vocal minority that wants everything built in, Raiden will still be a commercial succes like Devastator, Bruticus and Superion.

Which is good, for as much as I like the MMC Combaticons individually, their combined form is a disproportioned and floppy mess, so bring on the partsformers. :D

From the G2 Constructor box set manual. When the ToyWorld designers left and started ZetaToys this one was just forgotten

I remember seeing this in the booklet and was pleasantly surprised, I wouldn't have said no to a Toyworld or Zeta Menasor. Especially considering what's available now.

I love the toy-inspired heads. I never liked toon heads on Dead End and Wildrider.
