My bbts preorder arrived just now, and my first impression straight out of the box is that Slammer is an impressive addition to the weaponizers of the past three series. My copy has nice, tight joints pretty much everywhere but the waist "swivel" (it's a 5mm peg and hexagonal hole). His poseability is pretty grand, and everything looks nice and sturdy. (I'll add pics later; I just got a new phone with a better camera today as well and setting it up is a nightmare.)

Vehicle mode is tight and compact, with everything fitting together in a very satisfying way like one of those old handmade wooden puzzles. My only woe here is that the turret has no meaningful way of swiveling without breaking up the sculpt and that the tank barrel does not accept blast effects. There are no instructions for the Metroplex comm tower mode, unfortunately.

    Pros:
    Great paint apps
Possibly the best poseability out of all the -izers who aren't fossilizers
    Shockingly little hollowness
Ab crunch by way of transformation joint
Excellent weapons which can be wielded in robot mode or stored in an unobtrusive way
The stock weaponizer mode uses all parts with nothing awkwardly left out
You can pretend he's the gritty hollywood reboot of Tailgate with that excellent headsculpt of his

    Cons:
    Loose waist swivel
No meaningful tank turret rotation (does have a good range of up and down, but that requires moving the whole turret and not just the tank barrel)
    Dinky fists
No stopping point or catch for the ab crunch- it's tight, but a "thwooping point" would have been nice
no blast effect compatibility for the tank barrel, which is a massive shame

I'll try to have photos up soon, but I'm a massive luddite so it may be a while!

    (Tailgate intensifies)

EDIT: The tank barrel is tucked away in that little back part of the box like many other kingdom accessories, so be careful not to throw it away!

To be fair though his original alt mode never had canon rotation. I'll be happy enough for the fact it can swing up and down.

His lack of fists don't bug me much since he'll stay in tank mode anyway.

No blast effect ports is totally understandable since it's suppose to go alongside the 2013 Metroplex Anyway. :)

I'm picking mine up from Post Office Monday hopefully. BBTS mailed my 2 a few days ago. :)

though I don't own Metroplex, I'll still enjoy it for what it is. it'll be interesting to see how I can integrate him with Sixgun. Now we just need a proper Deluxe Scamper. He;s heavily undersized now to his other 2 brothers-in-arms.

Yeah, it's easy to rationalize him as more of a mobile artillery gun rather than a tank, so up and down is all he needs. The fists are a huuuuuge step up from the odd "pegs for hands" thing Ractonite has going on. And me too! I got him because I just think he's neat :)

I had to wedge my laptop slightly open to be able to get these photos. That rounded edge of his tank treads and torso weight make it nearly impossible to pose on a level surface. Also the 5mm pegs on the hips are loose connecting to both the torso connection and the tank barrel. If I had a Metroplex I don't think I'd display Slammer in comm tower mode for anything longer than a few pics so as to not risk losing pieces from errant bumps and shakes.

    Cheers! Your laptop-wedging is appreciated!
Sounds like Slammer may be a return to the wildly varying peg tolerance QC of his fellow Metroplex minion Sixgun, then? :lol
I shall ready myself for a microsmearing of superglue to increase their friction.
I realise you couldn't do it on a flat surface but does the back of the tank/bottom of the tower have any flip out pegs?
I'm wondering if the missing arms from the proto photo imply that they may be intended to form the towers connection somehow?

No flip-out pegs, naw. Putting the arms on facing backwards adds stability but I don't think it was intended. These white tabs are just long enough to make everything not flush. Bonus Dog for scale.

A fine example of a Good Doggo too!
That pair of too-recessed pegs back there are somewhat tantalising in possibility, I'll deffo be experimenting when I get him in hand!

That thing that folds in for the transformation for tank mode(the black part located under the autobot symbol) sort of looks like a combiner wars limb mode, does it work with combiner wars/power of the primes voyager figures or am I just imagining things?

Close but no cigar. Perhaps with modding it would fit?

Wow now that I'm seeing in hand images of a combiner wars/power of the primes limb now I see that it doesn't fit, still it would've been cool if it somehow fit into the power of the primes/combiner wars voyager

^ Any reason to think that the new combiners would use a different size port? Fandom would love removing backwards compatibility.

The Legacy Menasor? Every reason. There isn't one visible on Dragstrip and the way his back is constructed very much makes it look like they're going for the "cars bolted onto Motoromaster's limbs" style Menasor combined mode

I Got my 2 Slammer figs from BBTS finally.

They are my Autotroopers. Thats all I see when looking at them. The heads are a give away to me. So I'm army building them. Slammer will lead them.

Aside from that, the figure is loads of fun to pose.

It oozes so much personality when posed right.

How are so many getting their BBTS preorders already? I’ve got him and Pipes preordered from BBTS and they still haven’t shipped. :(

Depends on when you pre-ordered. BBTS typically fulfills pre-orders in the order they were submitted. They only got a limited stock of Slammer and Pipes so not all the preorders have been filled yet.
