OK, I know this is a digibash into Cybertronian Legacy Prime Arcee, and I know this alt mode is a bike and not a car, but now I'm thinking SS BB Arcee could be customized into a pretty decent Shadow Striker:

Heck, with the ankle wheels, it might even make a good base for Lickety-Split:

Was just reviewing the Arcee design and realized she has visible hand syndrome, as they\'re just bent at the wrist in the back of the vehicle where they hold the guns. This is a bummer, especially because it honestly feels like the spot with the guns should be the front, not the back. It\'s a minor thing, especially since it\'s a Cybertronian mode, not earth mode, so hiding robot parts is less necessary, but still...

 

I dont usually buy movie figure ( have two in my kids collections ) and I plan on buying the brawn for my kids but not this arcee. Now if its ever done in Paradron medic colors I might but as arcee, well the movie designs dont interest me

 

I just think of his alt-mode as a Cybertronian submarine, but it still isn’t all that pretty.

 

The thing with sizes getting smaller and prices going up is apparently to do with the rising price of oil, though I don't know enough about it to know quite how justified it is. To be honest it doesn't bother me too much, the figures have been shrinking ever since DOTM, which were mostly smaller and less complex than anything from ROTF, and I'd rather have some kind of vague scale than arbritary fixed heights. We've had nearly four years of Studio Series plus WFC to know they're trying to scale things, so I'm not sure why it's become a sudden problem again; SS Jazz, SS VW, Offroad and Cybertronian Bumblebee, Earthrise Bumblebee and Cliffjumper have all been as small as these. And you can bet if they made them bigger so people felt they were getting their money's worth, they'd only be simplified, given less paint, fewer or smaller accessories, or all of the above. It's an unfortunate trade-off. It's not just Transformers; toys in general are really expensive. I have non-collector friends and colleagues who tell me how expensive it is just buying their kids something like a simple fashion doll. £20 for something with basic articulation and one set of clothes. I will say though, that given they had to design the alt mode from scratch, I don't really see why they went with the faux wheels on the outside of the legs instead of doing what they did with Siege Hound and get the real wheels on either side.

This talk of them being in scale is because they're literally making Studio Series/Generations figures to a relative scale now, they've actually said this.

I really can't fathom you out. You're one of life's true mysteries. You take every opportunity to point out that not everything has to be G1, but twice in as many days you've replied to me basically saying 'it wasn't like that in G1 so it shouldn't be like that now'. Really, what's your deal?

 

I cleaned up my edits more and then combined them to keep things in one place.

Apologies if some lines are brighter than others. Hasbro's slide people suck with keeping things clean and tidy, so I had to go back over many of the lines they clearly and half-hazardly deleted.

This should make it easy to Digibash Arcee to for those who enjoy such things.  

 

Arcee overall looks quite impressive, and I can imagine her alt mode could serve as reference for some cool motorcycle Transformers in the future

 

I'm still super down for Brawn and Wheeljack myself.

Also Mark, you absolute mad lad with the leakness. If that Omega Sentinel/Guardian Robot/GADEP mockup is a pitch, for the love of god make it happen! If it's a legitimate tease for something coming, just gimme the preorder now!

I got to thinking that these designs were probably not just done for Studio Series figures but most likely to be used in the Cybertron Prequel film or other Cybertron flashback scenes in the Knightverse. As much as we may beg and plead I honestly couldn't see Hasbro's art department designing a bunch of alt. modes for a 3 minute opening sequence 3 years after the fact just for toys.

 

Don't they do that for mostly every figure? I think they use them for reference when designing the figures.
