Eh, I don't know. I like Charlie Hunnam and honestly, for the sake of his career, he can't afford to be in another bomb. I'd rather they gave it to the wrestler dude. Even if the movie tanks, it can only help his career.

I just saw the new one the other day and unfortunately I didn't like it very much at all.
I was sceptical when I read people saying this wasn't as good as the original but I have to agree.

My ideal MK movie: Enter The Dragon/Big Trouble In Little China style film using the look of the first game. Old skool fights like ETD but use CGI for powers/moves, film them the old skool way too so it's like you're watching a round of the game.

I think because the first game was shameless and outright theft of the Enter the Dragon story to begin with, they purposely try to distance themselves from that when making new media now.

Never seen Enter The Dragon, but I also about the Big Trouble In Little China part. Hell, that's where the designs for Raiden and Shang Tsung were taken from.

As for this new movie, it's still the worst movie of the year for me.

I have it as a tie with “Snake Eyes” as far as worst movie of the year. I couldn’t believe that the titular elements of each were barely in them (Snake Eyes’ costume and the actual Mortal Kombat tournament).

Enter the Dragon is what codified the "Random martial artists chosen to participate in a martial arts tournament managed by a villain hiding a bigger evil scheme" formula that Mortal Kombat and many other fighting games picked on later. I say anyone who is a fan of fighting games should watch it to see how it laid the ground for them.

It's also just a good movie in itself and a classic for good reasons. I recommend it for most people to watch at least once.

Huh. Kind of surprised it got greenlit, but maybe they'll do a better job this time around. Hopefully, they drop Cole too. We don't need a character whose power is literally plot armor in this series.

If Lewis Tan is excited for the movie then he should take a backseat for the other established characters.

I originally thought the sequel wasn't going to happen because the box office but I guess having high HBOMax streaming numbers really helps.

It's a pretty lame power. That and calling up Grampa Scorps to fight your fights for you. I mean summons are cool and all but...well, he would have been better off just kicking ass then Defense +1 when equipped. Poor dude. He is gonna get relegated into the doldrums with that lamestain Striker most likely. I don't mind Cole, but they should have done something much better.

If all the campaigning pays off, I would love to see Miz as Johnny Cage. Not only that, Ed Boon himself wants The Rock as Shao Kahn

I'd love to see Kitana, Jade, Night Wolf, Sindel and Baraka.

    About time!

I like the 2018 film. More gritty and less cheesy than the 1995 film and it's sequel.

Want to see the following in MK2:

    - More of Outworld and Netherrealm
    - Kitana
    - Baraka
    - Johnny Cage
    - Sheeva and/or Kintaro
    - Bi Han resurrected as Noob Saibot
    - Bi Han's younger brother Kuai Liang as the new Sub-Zero
    - Scorpion
    - Shao Khan

Dude can't even act in his own reality tv show. We need a real martial artist to do some crazy moves.

First question they should ask: "Can you do the splits?"
