It's a curious thing about Transformers as a toy line; because historically all the toys and characters have transformed, Has-Tak feel the need to force an alt mode into characters who dodn;t or aren't meant to transform in the media they're taken from. I don;t see what would be so bad a about a non-transforming Fallen or Quintesson, or even a non-transforming DOTM Shockwave that uses the budget to give him a Driller instead of an alt mode. I mean we have the anti-non-transforming brigade who say the line's called Transformers so all the toys should transform, but it's not like every toy in the My Little Pony line is a pony, or in TMNT is a turtle...

See, I like the Bumblebee movie head; the G1 cartoon head has never looked good to me because it looks awkardly like a man with a scarf around his lower face rather than a decent interpretation of the original toy's robotic face.

I think especially in Studio Series to date, Hasbro has been very good about alt modes for characters that didn't have them being both functional and not compromising the robot mode in almost any way.

SS DOTM Shockwave is near perfect in robot mode and still transforms into a perfectly functional tank. These BB Cybertron figures also seem to have almost entirely uncompromised robot modes while still having functional alt modes (although Soundwave is a unique case of a perfect robot mode with an utter nonsense alt mode).

So I'm optimistic about how a SS Fallen would he done given the track record so far.

Oh I've not doubt it'll turn out well. Like Shockwave, there's already an existing alt mode for The Fallen from a previous line so I wouldn't be surprised if they just reuse that and update it while keeping the robot mode as accurate as possible.

It's about keeping the brand's spirit and making toys more fun. Sure, we didn't need Quintesson judge to "convert" into a prison cell, but people loved putting SS86 Grimlock's Wheelie in there (at least I do). R.E.D. and Super7 Ultimates should cover non-transforming characters with no feasible alt modes.

    Strange and unnecessary

According to @Protoman, Arcee may not have any hollows (except the wings) and will have optional wheel feet and articulated rocket pack too

    Nice,
I'd be a-okay with this if they did use the actual Cybertron Prime model they did use with this alt mode. with some of the Earth parts.

Just love how the alt mode looks like his WFC alt mode.

Honestly I was never a fan of any of the Studio Series stuff but I am now thinking of getting this stuff, Arcee especially would be one I\'d keep especially if there was an upgraded version to ever appear. Wheeljack and Ratchet on the otherhand, I may get to be my stand ins until I get figures I feel will fit better, Wheeljack is that middleground though in being what I wouldn\'t mind keeping or replacing. Either way they look good. Kingdom stuff on the otherhand is almost always good though, I definitely am planning to get Shadow Panther and Pipes, may get a visor head for pipes though, always felt a visor fit him more.

despite the alt mode issues this might be my bayverse soundwave. If Megatron can retain his cubertronian mode, why not sound wave

Looks good compared to the CGI model.

I don’t know that I’ll be buying any of these, but they’re nicely-executed designs. I’ve never been very interested in Cybertronian alt modes, but if the faces were more cleanly styled, I might be game. I don’t care for the creepy automaton masks. Good starting point for customs, though.

I must admit that the Bumblebee movie Studio Series suck me back on the “live action” toy line. Somehow I prefer the more “traditional” or humanoid aesthetics for the transformers.

Anyway, I really do hope we get to see how Megatron would look like though.

Did the Bee movie show any glimpses of Megatron?

    The not so serious answer:
    Thicc thighs save lives!

    The serious answer:
It's probably covering up Shatter's thighs causing it too look very thick. Just like how Shockwave is so dummy thicc because it's covering up Optimus's thighs.

I didn’t recall, though I didn’t suffer through watching that movie again to refresh my memory. I admit that these BB designs are far more palatable than Bay, but damn that movie dragged. While I don’t have high expectations of RotB, I at least hope that the pacing is better.

Is Megatron a confirmed player in the next movie?

…nope but if he resembles his G1 counterpart (humanoid with large cannon), oh boy…I’m to liquidate my Bayverse TFs…

Definitely gonna get Arcee, the earthrise/kingdom figure was just such a letdown, especially the huge backpack, I also like how she turns into a motorcycle and not her car, despite that not being G1 accurate it\'s still pretty realistic, especially since she\'s supposed to turn into a earth motorcycle in rise of the beasts, definitlley gonna pick this up along with Soundwave,Ravage,Shockwave and Ratchet

Not yet. No names confirmed for the Decepticons (or Predacons) at the moment, but it sounds like those who do appear will only have a small role.
