Indeed-especially since Paramount can't even be bothered to consider coherence and continuity as valuable characteristics of the narrative with these films. . .

Yet, the G1 cartoon DID NOT have the multi-million dollar budget these movies have ;) . . .While G1 has its issues, at least they came out later and admitted they rushed to get episodes out like an overworked White Castle employee cranking out sliders. . .

Beast Wars is G1 continuity but that doesn’t mean it shared its dated 80s writing. At least BW does take place in Africa, even going far as to be one of the few shows in history to accurately depict Australopithecus, back in the 90s mind you and I’m still shocked that there wasn’t any controversy behind featuring them in a kids show.

There’s less logic to needed for an Autobot that can turn into a man-made vehicle that can get imported into any country than a Maximal that has to scan a life form of a specific region. Gorillas not having any fossil record in the Americas, yet a car from the late 90s being used is too unrealistic.

And the fact that these live-action post-melinnium movies utilized the logic of 80s kid-shows writing is kind of the reason why most normal thinking people look at these movie no different than Batman and Robin.

So you're saying because a cartoon back in the 80's wasn't especially well done, modern movies don't have to do things well either? Which is ironic given how much you bang on about how things shouldn't be like G1. I'm sure some people only come on here to disagree with others.

I'm guessing that Noah steals him as a getaway car after doing whatever it he does, and that's how he's introduced to the Autobots.

Supposedly, Mirage is an outlaw, LOL!! I don't like that he was described as being similar to Crosshairs. Then again, if Crosshairs had been more properly developed, I wouldn't mind. . .Just my $0.02. . .

Doesn't the fact that Josh Cooley's animated movie is still going ahead and presumably Angel Manuel Soto's project too, point to the Hasbro & Paramount deal being renewed beyond 2022? Both in all likelihood will be released after 2023 (I know Cooley sort of said April 2023, but I feel that is not a definite date and it will get pushed to 2024)

Not to mention the countless other Hasbro/Paramount joint productions that are set for beyond 2022, it all seems imply that both companies still have a vision of working together in the years to come.

Or if you start talking/ask a question about continuity or Lorenzo you no longer provoke a gang war, you started one.

Things started before the deal expires next year will likely be allowed to continue but its no garuntee of further development should the deal not be renewed.

So, I just got done with a video chat with Peter Cullen (which was a fantastic experience) and asked if he has done any work for ROTB yet. He stated that he has not and that he has just as much info as we do regarding the movie. While it's normal for voice actors to record their lines later on in development, what's interesting to note is that he stated that he was supposed to start work in January before being pushed back to July. It was neat to hear about the delay from his perspective and the fact that he knows just as much as we do as of now.

That sounds awesome, and it is interesting and it does make sense. He probably won't start going in to record till maybe next January.

I'm not very well educated on how the development of films works, so I'm curious:

Would the fact that Peter's recording sessions got pushed back also indicate some sort of rewrites are taking place or can this just be attributed to the delay in and of itself and is common practice?

His recording sessions being pushed back simply mean that the movie isn’t done and re-writes or different scenes can still be filmed, so they are waiting for them to finish before they do recording.
