In fact, they made it worse. The shield emblems used to be near the outside door edges, which at least came closer to resembling the cartoon. I'm completely baffled by this decision.

For some reason I expect them to drop the ball with Smokescreen and do an exceptionally lazy version of him. Like CJ but worse.

 

Man i like this more than the NA versions but their size invalidates several others in my collection. Until they come out with their jazz and iron hide and ratchet i think i gotta stick with na.

they have already shown their jazz and he is a sweet looking jazz. now that is a fig i am definitely looking forward to.

 

The only NA bots that I can think of that would be invalidated are the Datsuns, Jazz, and Vanbros. MS has announced all those except the vanbros. I like the vanbros, but tbh they’re nothing incredible.
Now that MS is getting into phase 2 with Jazz and Prime, future carbots from them should be pretty spectacular.

 

TBH I ordered this guy from Toy Dojo on your high praise when you first got it. I don't even have it in hand yet, it's sitting in a pseudo POL while I wait for another preorder to arrive. But i am looking forward to the day when I can finally see what all the hype (yours and everyone's) has been about. Pics give some idea sure but nothing beats actually experiencing it first hand.

The light blue plaint looks so nice. This made me wonder if that's why this figure was delayed for so long after Bluestreak was out.

It hasn't so long before that MST "mastered" this light blue paint on nylon. Previously they used dark blue, e.g. on Bluestreak.

When was light blue first used? On the toon OP or the limited edition Trailbreaker?

I can kinda see that too, but I want to believe (plus, I don't really hate on my CJ, at least in bot mode).

I mean, yeah - stupid door signs and black rifle aside - Prowl's looking great!

 

I hope for MST Barricade. It would be great for my collection ( NA Datsun, or NA carbots) cuz in my eyes Decepticons are taller than Autobots.

 

MS better not be lazy with Smokescreen. He def needs the changed frontend/bumper and headsculpt.

 

And possibly the tires on top of the shoulders too.
NA and MST both took the same compromise with Prowl and Bluestreak - as in, they made one right (NA Prowl and MST Bluestreak respectively) and cloned the other one wrong - but NewAge did everything correct with Smokescreen.

That's definitely an area where I can see MST getting super lazy, with a simple retool.

 

I didn't mention the tires on top of the shoulders, because MS would have to make real design changes to this mold, which I don't see happening.. but you're definitely right about the tires.

Originally got the 3 NA Datsuns, but when they showed up they were too small for me and been sitting boxed in my closet since. Then MSb24 came out, but ppl reviews on here were less than stellar so I skipped it and the Iron Trans Datsuns been my 3 on display.

While MS prowl has its shortcomings, now that 2 ms Datsuns are out, I pulled the trigger. And just a heads up for anyone else who also skipped Silverstreak originally, ShowZ is getting some extra b24 with their shipment of Prowl, so ppl can get the 2 together instead of hunting down b24 separately.
